More importantly is there anyone who was a fan of this album?

I preferred God's Own Medicine. I was more of a Cure fan though.

Fired up last.fm and listened to Mission - tower of strength. I think its a grower. Any others on that album any good?

You are a bit pre my goth phase.

Never actually been a goth, but like much of the music :)

Will grab a copy of children and may accompany you :D

Where is it being held?

Shepherd's Bush, a venue I haven't been too but have just booked 3 gigs at :D

I saw The Damned at Shepherd's Bush Empire. It was a lovely venue.

Brixton is my usual weapon of choice :)

I've been to quite a few venues but Brixton is close and its a bloody brilliant venue :)

Don't mind Hammersmith or the Roundhouse, hopefully Shepherd's Bush will meet with my approval, should be a good venue for GCWCF and We Are Scientists, the Mission tickets are seated BOO, but its all they had and I didn't want to miss it.

I like Winter Gardens in Blackpool, mainly because I get to make a weekend of it! I saw The White Stripes there at the Empress Ballroom a few years ago. Awesome.

I loved Shepherd's Bush because it's all old and cosy. Really nice atmosphere.

I think Children is an excellent album as is Carved in Sand, the earlier stuff is a little less accessible unless you really like early/ mid era goth, avoid anything after Carved as it gets a bit odd.

I was soo in love with Robert Smith in my yoof!

I only really know God's Own Medicine but I am happy to go unless any bigger fans are more enthusiatic :)

I was a Goth through and through in my teen years. I saw The Mission live at Elgin Town Hall in 1988 (I think, it was a long time ago!)

Like the undead, this thread rises from the grave :D

Never really got into the Mission and can't say if I've listened to that album. I may have a dig around and have a listen to some of their stuff, if I can find any.

I was a big Sisters of Mercy fan and saw them twice in Edinburgh in the eighties. Would love to see them again.
