This is on the 360 Huddy, and it doesn't support cross-platform play I'm afraid (at least not as far as I know).

Not sure I buy this though:
For the second reason, he explains that a gamer playing on the Xbox 360 versus one playing on the PC just won’t be evenly matched. The bottom line is that right now a gamer on an analog stick will have an advantage over a keyboard and a mouse.
I played Shadowrun with both my controller and kb/mouse and the latter was much more flexible. I stuck with the controller as it was more comfortable and 99% of players were on pads anyway (being on the 360).

aye, its all down to personal prefs imo.
and then there are PC gamers using 360 pads nowadays... bridge the gap 'n' that...

I'm playing Halo 2 atm using my 360 pad, getting on fine with it. I'm gonna buy Universe at War when I can find it for ~£20 but I wont be using the pad for that, RTS needs a mouse, C&C3 reaffirmed that.

I gave C&C3 a chance :p It's certainly not bad, I think it's almost as good as we're going to get on a console, but it just couldn't touch the mouse.

I was under the impression it did? oh well, so much for the the MS dream of a unified gaming.

The platform is in place but nobody's got the balance right yet (and I imagine some haven't even tried). Universe at War supports cross platform play, but I just cant believe that they can balance it properly. Shadowrun did but there was about 10 Vista players (one of them was me!) so it was difficult to see how they got on.

I think to be honest the main barrier MS will have getting a mass of PC FPS players onto Live is Live itself. The subscription service just isnt something most PC gamers can stomach I imagine, considering it only offers everything they've previously had for free.

Universe at War is actually a good example - some of the online functionality (and I'm not just talking cross platform play - I'm talking game modes and perks) are only available to gold subscribers - which is ridiculous. It's fine for someone like me who is primarily a 360 player dabbling in the odd PC game, but I'm hardly the market they should be targeting.
