Just been finding reports that an accommodation platform, the "Safe Scandinavia", was partially evacuated earlier today due to a reported "suspect device"

It would appear, thankfully, that this has been a false alarm and a woman working on the platform has been detained and will be transported to Aberdeen - presumably for questioning.

161 of the 539 people on board were airlifted to nearby installations in what must have been a very scary situation - I know I'd be bricking it if I were on there.
Thankfully nobody was hurt during the debacle.
It's possible that the woman genuinely thought she had found a suspicious device and if that is the case, I applaud her actions.
If, however, as looks more likely from the reports, she is guilty of causing a scare maliciously, I hope they throw the book at her and lock the bitch up. Life in the offshore oilfield is a scary enough place without crap like that scaring the pants off people.
