Hey all,

My removable HD power connection within the box has just gone kaput. I can get the drive out to backup our data but would like to know if anyone has any software that would render any data unrecoverable when I take it back. Don't want anyone snooping round our stuff.

Cheers :D

When my 200GB drive went kaplooey I used this (http://www.killdisk.com/) to knacker the data on it...

Ran a few passes and it seemed pretty ok to me :)

Turns out I am a tool and should check plug connections before claiming something is broken :o

Oops!

I think killdisk is what my old placed used, and they dealt with government stuff so had to be approved etc.

lol Stan that's exactly what I said to him when he came and told me what he'd done ;D

That image is so appropriate on so many occasions on internet forums that I have it permanantly parked on my webspace and have memorised the URL :D
