As per title, if you had the chance to go and see one group or artist be them alive alive o or dead then who would you go and see and why. I like listening to all sorts of music and this morning I was listening to a bit of Johnny Cash coming into work. Now I know he isn't everyones cup of tea but he has something about him thats really endearing. Its like every song is a mini musical story.

Other than that I wouldn't mind seeing Zepplin back in the day.

Queen.

Would have loved to have been at Live Aid for their performance. Looked awesome.

Amongst others though, I would have really liked to have seen The Beatles and Talking Heads.

I would have liked to have seen Johnny Cash and Queen both.

Others I wish I had seen would include The Jam, The Kinks and the Deep Purple of the early 70s when they did their best work.

Good question, I would say The Police, but I get to see them this summer  Not sure why I ever followed them, they hit their peak before I was born, go figure :D

Probably No Doubt then. Ive loved everything they've ever done, and I still follow Gwen Stefani now :)

The Who whilst Keith Moon was still alive.

If I could be 17 again then I'd like to go back to a Symposium gig as well.

Me too. Love the Man in Black. Rarely a day .

The Doors would be another for me and probably INXS & T-Rex or someone like that :D

Good choice Kitten. Not sure if you have read, No one here gets out alive( Biography of the Doors by Danny Sugerman.) Old Jim comes across as really shy on and off stage.

I knew a few of the songs but my first major introduction was a music channel weekend "in memory of" just after he died :(

Queen - again... *I was there at Wembley in '86*
Up until last year I would have said Crowded House... Seen them twice now - got another 2 shows to go see later this year.
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Robert Johnson
Cream *before they gave up the drugs...*
Genesis *with Peter Gabriel*
R.E.M. back in the 80's - before they sucked....
Magic Sam

I think that I'd just spend the time buming around in Chicago in the 30's, 40's 50's, 60's and 70's listening to the blues legends. Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Louisiana Red, John Lee Hooker, Junior Wells, Bo Diddley, Jimmy Johnson, Screamin' Jay Hawkins.... etc...

Nirvana. Almost did!

Someone I knew at 6th form had tickets for an upcoming UK tour when Cobain killed himself. Suddenly his tickets became worth a fair bit, no idea what he did with them in the end.

As to the original question I'd go with Queen as well.

That happened to me. I got a refund from the ticket company though. It felt too wrong to profit from his death.

Not a specific band but I'd have loved to have gone to CBGB's in it's heyday. All that exciting music.
