I'm paying £75 month for XL Phone with talk-anytime, XL BB, V+box, XL TV.

I rang virgin today because I wanted to subscribe to Sky sports 1 for this weekends footie. This would be an additional £18. The lady on customer support said I can get all Sky Sports and Movies plus another v box fitted for an additional £10 a month..

Vivid Imaginative Person according to most on OCuk.Very Incident Prone I think of you Huddy. :D

And you can get 2nd VM boxes? Do you have to pay per month for that or just pay a one-off fee? We only have one TV hooked up to VM and Mum dominates that so I'd like to be able to have a VM box in my room hooked up to my PC so I can watch TV as well. :D

You can have a 2nd box, we have a V+ box downstairs and a bog standard one up stairs. I think it you take a higher value package like TV XL you get the boxes included, or if you have V+ you get the extra box for free :)

I'm seriously thinking of changing back from Sky. We are still with virgin for the phone and net but in total we are paying close to £120 a month for everything. With Virgin VIP and a couple of extra boxes and every channel it will be under £100. We keep ringing up Virgin to get them to do us a deal but they won't :(

Why won't they do you a deal?

No idea, they just keep saying there are no deals around at the moment for us. Bit weird considering if they did we'd move to them in seconds. But nevermind.

Well I'd just call them up and ask them for the VIP package :)

£85 a month is still a lot though! I thought you were gonna say you were paying £75 per month when it should have been £50 or whatever. We get TV(M) Unlimted Phone and 4mb inter (I think thats M maybe L?) for £30 a month. Admitidly the TV we get is basic i think. It still seems 75/85 is a fair amount for the extra of a few tv channels and one step up in internet?

You get more than a few basic channels and uber Internet connection, for one you get a V+ box, an additional box (send the kids in the other room), free 24/7 phone calls (great for teenagers) , sky movies and sports. When you have a family of 5 with teenagers and a wife that's a childminder, then it's worth it. I also don't have a BT line so that's £11 off straight away, so the net cost is only £73 and pay for nothing else. tyhe whole package in sepoerates is well over £120,

If I was a single bloke or even a couple with no kids, it's most likely not a good deal.

I bet Leanne spends £80 a month on phone bills alone ;D

Exactly !!!!

I think like anything, it's worth it if you use it. If we don't watfh the movies and sports then bye bye.

A virgin egnineer came round today to install the second free receiver but he has installed another V+ box.. I'm not going to say anything until the next bill comes in :)

Cheers. So both are able to change channel seperately from the main box? If I get a job near home after Uni I'd like to have a Virgin box in my room so I can watch TV when Mum is in the sitting room. Obviously I wouldn't want to have to watch the same channel as her, but be able to change channel.

Is this possible? :D

Haly
05-03-2008, 17:27
Yup :) I've got a regular Virgin box in my room and there's a V+ box in the living room for the family.
Hoping when I have some money spare to get a V+ box installed in my room too.
