View Full Version : 28 Days Later
I really like taking photo's. I can't confess to being very good or techincally aware, none the less I just enjoy doing it. Whilst I have been trying to get a bit more knowledge of the technical stuff and appreciate other people's work, I came across 28 Days Later (http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/index.php).
Some of you guys may have seen this site before. If not then it might be up your street. Some real good photo's from all sorts of Urban Exploration projects.
Apologies if already posted elsewhere

I click the link, open a random thread and found my ex  ;D
I know a few guys who do this sorta thing in Liverpool. They are basically insane, and one is scared of heights. This is their site (http://www.level-two.co.uk/category.php?catname=Construction) with stunning photos.
I have done a fair bit of UE in my time, but never really took any cameras or anything like that with me. Some very interesting stuff been posted on 28DL over the years (including some photos of places I have been myself!) :)
I think it's a brilliant site :) I'd love to do some urbex :D
Have been on that site quite a few times before. Fascinating. Not been on it a while though. Wasted HOURS trawling through after you put the link here. Thanks :p
Definitely my kind of thing :)

i am obsessed with photos like that - i think 90% of the reason for that is because i would be too freaking scared to go irl :P
i love this (http://seehere.blogspot.com/2005/09/abandoned.html) website - well worth a look if you like 'abandoned' piccies
As an aside, I read the thread on there about some asylum up Leeds way and it had a link to a nurses account of working there. Quite harrowing to say the least
The guy I know went to some local asylum. Its seriously ****** up. One big room is just painted with red n yellow stripes. Imagine spending days in that.
Wow! I've spent hours today looking on that site, and on the one that Goldilocks posted. I absolutely love exploring old, derelict places. We found a mansion that Mussolini comissioned (but never stayed in) in Rhodes a few years back and went back last year for some more pics whilst we were out there. Really eery, but absolutely fascinating stuff. Found a derelict prison and church too, but the mansion was the best. I'd love to go and check out one of the asylums, but don't know if I'd have the guts to do something like that as you have the added worry of security guards hanging around in the UK.

Sounds cool :D
Sneaking into places in the UK isn't difficult. There are plenty of places that you can get into without anyone ever knowing you are there, even if you travel to the site by car. As long as if you ARE seen you haven't done any obvious / provable damage you are fine as long as you leave when you are asked to. Security guards are rarely any bother either :)

Was that Deva/ Countess of Chester? It's recently been doscovered that it was painted that way (yellow and black stripes) for an art project/ exhibition and wasn't like that for it's proper use. Shame, as it caused quite a lot of pondering originally!

Fascinating site, and do you have that link handy?

Highroyds Hospital (http://www.highroydshospital.co.uk/)
If you scroll down the main page to Barbra, a Nurses Story, that's your link
I don't think Enjoy is the right word but you know what I mean ;)
