So me mate popped round & i got the kettle on while he got busy with the African origami.
Pulling a mug from the cupboards i have a habit of pouring boiling water over the mug & wiping it off with a piece of kitchen towel. As i wiped the mug with the kitchen towel it Exploded in my hands like a 2nd World War grenade
Damage to my hand is considerable with a Grand Canyon size gash in my left thumb right across the pad bit :'(
I am a Wounded Soldier ;D
I've been brave & tough & after elevating my arm for 3 weeks the spurting gushing red stuff has subsided but obviously i will need at least 7 pints to restore my levels :p
Using 14 packs of plaster i have patched myself up & now sit here with life eeeking out of me wondering whether i have enough blood/energy to last another hour.
This could quite possibly be my last post so Tell all your Grandchildren about me & use me as an example to save young children from Exploding Mugs

Being quite honest i may just get a rope out now & hang myself. I cannot skin up, play my sexbox or play the violin at the Albert hall tonight. Thankfully my injury shouldn't stop me playing BF2 so not all is lost.

Here Lies

Christ, must have been an air bubble in the clay or something! Must be a day for odd injuries - I just opened the patio door and caught my entire forearm inbetween the handle and the centre frame between the two panes of glass. My hand crumpled and it took the skin off the back of it. Bruised elbow and knackered hand.

I got the door open, and that's what counts! I was holding a cup of coffee in the other hand so it could have been a lot worse. :p

Or just thermal shock. It's not uncommon for glasses to explode this way if you rapidly heat a cold glass or cool a hot glass. Not heard of it with mugs but there's no reason why not.

Best of luck for a speedy recovery. :)

I've had a jacket potato explode in my hand before - I must have forgotten to stab it before putting it in the oven, went to put a knife thru it to see if it was done and it went bang in my hand - scalding hot potato everywhere (including my face). Mic heard the bang from upstairs so it must have been loud :o Never forgotten to stab a potato since :o

Hope you two are ok :)

Well Personally i like to Exaggerate All incidents into Comic proportions, It helps me deal with the annoyances of day to day living/life.
Recently though my thinking has been well off the wall after watching those Stephen Hawkins shows & listening to all that guff about anti matter Quantum physics & Plate theory.
Literally anything is not only possible in my head but in the Universe as well

This was no freak explosion. A sniper obviously didn't like your mug.
