Do any of you guys drink any kind of speciality, herbal or green teas at all ? I was listening to a podcast last week on my way to work and was recommended Matcha Tea. It's a very very green tea and supposedly has fantastic health benefits such as anti-oxidants, good for managing cholesterol and all sorts of other good stuff.

I ordered some up and took delivery of it on Friday and I can say that upto now its been worth every penny. It's not cheap at £12.95 for 100g but that should make a good 200 cups as only a small amount of powder is used.

I am getting pretty cheesed off having crap tea & coffee at work so I dont mind paying a bit extra and having a good cup or two before I go out and when I get back home. So what do you guys drink

Tea, builders, lots of milk and one sugar.

None of this girly-whirly, namby-pamby, airy-fairy herbal/fruit/twig "tea" for me.

Although I do like the odd Earl Grey.

For a standard cuppa I love Sainsbury's Red Label, I even prefer it (to most people's abject horror) to Yorkshire tea.

At work, when meeting rooms have been vacated and hospitality are yet to come back for the empties, we often swipe the unused herbal teabags that were left behind. All from the Twinings range, I've recently been enjoying green tea with orange, and one with raspberry in. Never really thought much to them before but I'm quite enjoying them as a change from normal tea and coffee.

I quite like tea. First thing in the morning, pipping hot tea. Has to be cool enough to drink, but hot enough so you can't drink too much just for that rush. I quite like green tea too. Got some with with cranberry which is nice.

Assam PF or the local places Houseblend.
I'm a definate snob when it comes to tea and coffee - I only use loose tea and freshly ground coffee.

Slightly white and no sugar. Unless it's a green tea, then no milk or sugar.

I am partial to a few variants.. I always have a jar of Lift Peach Tea around, which is a bit of a comfort drink for me for various reasons. Other than that I prefer Sainsbury's Red Label as an ordinary tea with milk and no sugar, and from Twinings: Earl Grey, Lady Grey with a hint of Orange (gorgeous stuff), and as a relaxing drink Green Tea with Orange and Lotus Flower, all of which are drunk sans milk.

I love coffee and like the occasional tea. Regular herbal teas tend to be full of artificial flavours so I'm not keen on those, however I have found these teas:

http://www.goldentemple.nl/yogitea_gb/home_gb.html

very nice indeed. No artificial ingredients at all.

i am a teapot. I adore black and green/chinese tea. All flavours, everything. Love coffee too. where did you order yours from Loki?

However I can't abide herbal/fruit tea which is the work of Satan and tastes of cold remedies.

I got it from a place called Japanese Kitchen (http://www.japanesekitchen.co.uk) I couldn't find the checkout on their website for it so I rung them up and they had it with me in a day :)

I am sure that there will be somebody in Manchester China town who sells it for the next time I want it

I quite like mint tea - in fact I drink lots of it in Cyprus, it's very refreshing and helps digestion after a rich meal. Jasmine teas is nice too.

However for day to day drinking english breakfast-type is what I tend to go for.

From time to time I do like mixtures of teas (dried tea leaves rather than bags) of Asam, Lapsang suchong, darjeeling etc... Earl grey is nice at times too.

I've been drinking green tea/ jasmine tea for a while now and buy mine from Nothing But Tea http://www.nbtea.co.uk/index.php

I particularly like; Red Lychee Balls and Jade Bamboo. I also drink White and Green teas but the light jasmine teas are my fav. What you have to remember is that not all of them are good with water at 100 degrees C, the Jade Bamboo I have is much much better with water at about 80 degrees.

Aitch drinks quite a lot of fruit teas, Chai and Roiboos but its not really my kind of thing.

I tend to start the day with Twinings English breakfast (in a 1 pint insulated mug). Through the day I will drink either Assam, Darjeeling, Earl Grey or Jasmine depending on my mood.

All of the above are made with loose leaves - mostly Twinings 'cos they make damned good tea.

When I'm at work, I don't drink much tea because we don't get fresh milk on the rig - I do have the odd cup of earl grey as that doesn't need milk (I usually have some bags with me). I drink mostly filter coffee (not instant, it sucks) on the rig as it's readily available and I usually drink it black (I will have creamer occasionally since the creamer on the rig is actually quite good).

Builder's tea for me in the morning and daytime. Either gold label, PG Tips or Tetley etc but I've gone clean off red label. I think it's our water more than anything, just makes a grotty tasting cuppa. Straight out of the Thames it is, poos and all.

I like Jasmine tea with a Chinese meal and it's good for killing a hangover and if I'm ill then peppermint tea goes down well. Not really a fan of green tea, don't like the bitter tanin taste.

I like my superbrew :) At my old work my boss and I would do a superbrew every afternoon. 10 bags in the teapot (instead of the usual 3-4) and brewed for 7 minutes. It had lumps in it ;D

oh and we never cleaned the teapot

My colleague at work has literally one splash of milk in her de-caf tea and thats it :/ doesn't wash her cup up till the end of the week.

De cafe tasted like muddy water to me :(

There was a guy who drank coffee all the time in my last job - he got REALLY mad when I washed up his Star Trek mug :D

I love tea, so in case you ever need to make me a cup ;) :

Breakfast Tea / Assam / Afternoon Tea / Ceylon - Strong, semi-skimmed milk, no sugar

Keemun / Jasmine / Earl Grey - Strong, no milk, no sugar

Keemun tea is lovely (it is a chinese black tea), but it's his is definitely a without milk tea. If you like Lapsang souchon and Darjeeling then you should like this. It has a lovely orchid like smell.

Babington's Special Blend (http://www.babingtons.net/en/shopping.php?id_categoria=1&id_tipologia=15&id_prodotto=56) one of my favourite teas. Lovely full flavoured.

oooh has anyone tried turkish apple tea?? Absolutely delicious - not like a herbal or fruity tea at all but is well yummy.
Funny you should mention it I've got a box on the go at the moment. Can't decide whether I like the real stuff or the instant best though, I'm such a heathen :D
