View Full Version : A Kettle of Fish - Requests
Pheebs, went to my Mum's today for her birthday and she had this card up on display:

Was bought for her by her friend Jane. So cue me spending 5 minutes explaining I knew the creator etc, what a small world! :)
I doubt she's on this forum or related to somebody on here apart from me (you never know though!) so you're already getting sales from brand new customers, that's ace and quite an accomplishment. :)
Was chatting to a rattie friend Spidermouse today and she said she had bought some cards from you :) Not sure if it was store or web.

U = Unix - You will never use it.
*snip*
Cooooooooooool! That's super cool! :D I was in Athena a while ago trying to find a box picture frame. Whilst I was in there I saw some random people laughing at a card twirler thing and then realised they were laughing at my cards! I was like "woooo!"! Didn't see whether they bought any (didn't want to stalk them afterall!) but yeh, made me all cheery!

Through the shop :) Thank you for spreading the word :)

Have I missed something? *is this the alphabet thread*? It is the alphabet thread!! Haha! I think I used U for something else... canny remember what... would have to look it up! Thank you though :)

I'm mentioning it quite a lot at rattie people :)
How would you feel about doing packs of cards for sale at shows? Or even a small pack as a "donation" to the raffle? Its another way of spreading the word. Two other friends do commission drawing and suchlike at expos and things and they are thinking of trialling an "art table" at the pompy show to sketch cartoon versions of peoples rats.

When I saw who it was addressed too, it made me smile, thanks hun! Deluded mind but thanks :p
Just out of curiosity what does s.w.a.l.k mean?

ooooh ooooh me! I know! I know!
It means Sealed With A Loving Kiss :D
Count yourself lucky, I just had "do not bend" on mine :( ;)
Just thought you'd want to know Pheebs, when I registered and clicked on the terms and conditions in Firefox on Mac, it came up with a blank pop-up box. Also, the registration confirmation contains both my username and password, which is a gripe I have with other registration sites - presumably it's the automated software you use? Not sure if it's changeable.
Oooh Belmit... I will look into that as it grates on me too. For piece of mind I don't see your passwords! I don't even know if I see your usernames... I just get a "A New member has registered" and your fleamail address! I'm sure Alin will be able to help :) Thanks for pointing it out!
I know I will be able to adjust the T's and C's... (away at the moment though so it will have to wait until moonday annoyingly).
Thanks again!
Ooh, order number 34. Been busy!
YEAH babay!
Anything for you Mister nUtcare!

I can't get onto it either :(
had a hacker message the other day. :(
Ahhh nooo to hacker messages :( If they've managed to get email addresses from there that sucks... I hope it doesn't have any onward affects? What did it say Kitten?
I closed it all down... very frustrating.
It said something about a pirate. Ack, can't remember exactly but it was a Russian thing. I think they've probably just hacked the domain rather than got anything else, but can you check with your host? I guess they'd have logins/timestamps perhaps?
These types of hackers don't really want anything or any details, they just stick their "tag" on your page to show they've been there.
yeah, probably. still worth checking though as I think there was a shop involved, so theres probably a duty of care to make sure previous customers have been protected. :)
*reminds self never to buy from Desmo* (I also bought from AKOF!)
Ahahaha! Desmo! Didn't I get you to test buy things off me?! ;D Will doubly check :D
Pwned! In the face! ;D
Shame to see AKOF die given all the sweat and tears (I hope there was no blood, but you never know with paper goods), but if you've moved on to bigger and better things then that's that.
If it had any kind of database behind it then there's the chance of an 'SQL injection' attack (where they send codes to your site to try to grab information from poorly-secured databases), but this sounds like a random search looking for common vulnerabilities, which unfortunately found your site's security wanting. Usually they're just looking for ways to find even more 'victims' and this sort of thing happens to blog sites all the time.

Pheebs Will AKOF ever live again?
I was actually going there the other day because I wanted to see what was happening with A Kettle of Fish these days and subsequently saw it has been hacked...
You might remember me as chatted with you a couple of years ago regarding AKOF. If it's not too much trouble, would you mind firing me a quick e-mail to sambessey {at} gmail dot com
Cheers.
Sure thing bes :) will drop you a line later today! Akof was fun but it also was hard working alone a lot of the time! I've a load of cards I need to get rid of but will do so to a large warehouse :)
offer them up here first hon, I'd take some off you. :)

Ditto :)
Pheebs, you better give us first refusal on those cards! I ALWAYS have a stash for birthday emergencies, I would love some of yours!
Likewise. Making myself a half-new-year resolution to send more birthday cards, so I need to stock up to comply! :)
Bes, tried sending you a pm but you've blocked pm's!! :)
Guys, will see what I can conjure up for you! Xx
i'll take some back in a fortnight if you've got them to hand!

Hi Pheebs, I have not blocked them but it seems I am not allowed to use PM's for some reason :(
I think you have to have a minimum number of posts before pm' ing, to stop spammers :)

If you still have some left after selling to the masses of BD you could try this site http://www.folksy.com/. My friend makes her own jewellery and she sells it on there :)
