Simply may the cretins that are incapable of finishing on time for any _single_ bit of engineering works burn in hell. Yep this morning all the trains had copped it. They still are AFAIK. After xmas liverpool street you thought they would have put some effort in. I could do everything that I need to remotely, but noooo management have got it in their heads its a "free holiday" if I do that (I know how they think).

Well after 2hrs 3/4 today I got in, rather unsurprisingly they have made themselves very scarce. I have told them I am leaving early and I think they have the message.

Easter was great, work time now :D

Public transport sucks. That's all I have to say.

Heh, I noticed that this morning when I came into Liverpool Street...figured there'd be some unhappy commuters..:p Didn't they *promise* as well that there wouldn't be any delays - ho-hum!

Kate in the office is 'working from home' too... because she couldn't get in.

Doesn't make a slight bit of difference to us as she does this at any given opportunity anyways.

Thats **** Z

This was the reason I booked via Bishops Stortford instead of Chelmsford at the weekend. Such are the benefits of the parents living mid-way between the two and the fares being the same. And it worked, too. :)

After all the promises from senior people, I expect heads to roll. If they don't, I expect the government to make sure they do. I also expect to be disappointed. Well, one out of three expectations being met isn't a bad innings. :p ;D

Yep there was real promises that there would be no delays. I think they were fined several million over the xmas debacle. The best part when I was heading to Thurrock with my dad a spokesperson came on
"blah blah, sorry..... we may put on some coaches, tickets are valid on C2C services"

There were other people on the radio saying that at 7:15 there was at least 200 people outside the station as nobody could fit in

Luckily I went to Thurrock (on the lakeside loop), got a seat as it was two stops before Laindon where they were directing everyone.

To top it all, the heatings broke. Currently sat here in my jacket and hat.

My friend who works for network rail (no it's not his fault personally, however I'm happy to provide a forwarding address forward any steaming turds ;D) deliberately "pre-positioned" himself for his meeting this morning so he wouldn't need to use the trains as he predicted it would overrun again.

I'm back home. Upon leaving work at 6:45, they were running 1-2 trains an hour. So I thought stuff it and had a couple of pints with a meal. Not long been in.

I have a mate who works for metronet who I often remind about the crapness of the tube.

We'll have to see what happens tomorrow morning. There were some people that waited for two hours for a coach! Seems that they didn't put on enough coaches

You got in?

I got to the station, after running few people over on my bike, at 8'ish and they said no trains, no buses - your're stuffed. So yet another day out of my holiday allowanc gone. It's ok giving compensation but they can't get me my holiday allowance back :((

We shouldn't be allowed to host the 2012 olympics. British Transport system won't cope.

I tried ringing you but your mob was off. I got a lift to Lakeside and caught the C2C in. Granted it took ages, but I got in at 11:15

edit:- I know what you mean about the Olympics. Take Stratford, official figures were saying a train leaving every 20secs? Was on one of their publications a while back. There is no way.

That and how would the underground cope? Simply it wouldn't. Even now at Kings X its nuts due to all the Eurostar passengers

On the train last night a polish couple were shouting at the train guards as the doors were literally shutting because they think its ridiculous they had 1 minute to change and run across Brighton platform to get their train or wait 18 minutes, cursing our country etc. it is true sometimes it can be annoying changing then waiting half an hour for the next service but calm down!! Then the women pushed her pram over a mans toe twice so that caused a cufuffle then pushed me and Neil into the door when we both had guitars on us, quite uncomfortable! *rant over*

As for the Olympics, my view is that if we keep saying 'oh, we can't do X - it'll be a disaster', then it sure as hell will be. Instead, let's fire the idiots who can't even plan how they're going to get up in the morning and find someone who can sort this mess out.

If we can't sort the Olympics out then as far as I'm concerned we should ban the "John Lewis" list, backdated to 1997 or so.
