I have a new toy, on loan atm the mo from my lovely friend Canon Bob over at TP :)

Its mine until August, however if I decide I want to keep it, its mine for a mere £240  The thing weighs a sodding tonne, and the lens hood is bigger than my head ;D

LOL. I don't think whoever coined the 'hoody' term had that idea in mind. ;D

Nice piece of kit. Enjoy. :)

IIRC he said you could pay it off in installments too? If so, DO IT! I was going to get one of these last month with my bonus, but other things got in the way. Fantastic lens that you will not regret buying :)

Yep, installments too! Such a nice bloke! :)

Durz, didnt you sell yours to Pebs? If that was yours, I had a play with it last time we were down there :)

No fnar intended :p

I've got one of them on loan as well at the moment. Can't really fault the quality of it, but it just doesn't have enough reach for me on a full frame body :(

F/4 isn't great for low light either. I really want the 2.8 version, but it's a lot more expensive.

For that price though I'd bite his arm off :p

I'd still go for the f/2.8 :) Theres "low light" and theres low light which I was shooting in the other day. I was limited to f/2.8 and couldn't get sharp enough shots.

can you not rent studio time from a local studio?

Dee
31-03-2008, 19:53
Id rather not FS, as I am not currently charging for my time, Id be losing money. Besides, its always here when I want to do family stuff :)

Dee
08-04-2008, 08:47

Dee
10-04-2008, 17:28

Where do you get the Lens from for £350 ?

Kerso - find him on the TP forums.

Totally reliable, ridiculously good prices and UK invoices provided for warranty & cashback purposes.

Last time I checked he was doing the 70-200 F4L for £340 plus a tenner shipping. I got my 70-200 F4L IS from him.

SCM
12-04-2008, 19:43
I just bought new kit from kerso the last month or so and now own the 70-200mm F4 IS L, 24-70mm F2.8 L and the Canon 40D. So another recommendation for him as well plus in my case no postage with only living a bus journey from where he sends all his stuff off from :)

petemc
12-04-2008, 19:57
Thats not fair :p

I had a Canon Speedlite 430EX off Kerso a couple of years ago for a fantastic price. I bank transferred him the money because I bought it through TP forums. Very trustworthy bloke :)

Chuckles
13-04-2008, 17:52
I've used Kerso a couple of times as well and would definately recommend him. Ask him to do a bank transfer and buy outside ebay for a discount.

Tysonator

petemc
24-04-2008, 15:15
Mush mush! 70-200 is great for events, if there are any near you. I don't use mine much but its great when I do. Scour the local papers for events and things.

Dee
24-04-2008, 15:17
I am just so swamped with work at the moment, its a wonder I have time to post about it, let alone use it :(

Sorry Pete, Ill use it soon, I promise!!!

FakeSnake
24-04-2008, 15:35

I use my 80-400 maybe 3-4 times a year, but at those events.. i need it

Matblack
24-04-2008, 16:01
LOL, I've been rumbled

I'd probably still hire a 300mm for India but the 200mm would be an affordable addition and I'd rather get these things second hand particularly if it helps some one out, it would give me a zoom to practice with too. Now do I need a macro lens ....................hmmmmm :D
