View Full Version : Decent SDHC cards?
What's the current 'best plan' with SDHC cards for photography use? I'm after decent speed and reliability but preferably without emptying my bank account. :)
Probably looking at 4GB or 8GB. I don't want to get silly big as putting my trust in something that big is doomed to end up with a dead card.
Thanks. :)
PS - I've checked - all (3) of the devices I intend to use with them are SDHC-capable up to at least 16GB.
Sandisk all the way.
Get UltraII/ExtremeIII/ExtremeIV series if you will need the superior sustainable read/write speeds.

I got two class 6, 16Gb Fuji SDHC cards from 7dayshop to use with the Eee. I haven't had them long but they seem to work perfectly well.
Does anyone understand the whole 'class system' with SD cards?
I'd agree Sandisk are the dog's whatever's - I have Sandisk SD and MicroSD cards and card reader, and haven't regretted any of that at all, but is the price premium really worth it?
Three classes.
Class 2 - Guaranteed Minimum 2MB/s Transfer Rate
Class 4 - Guaranteed Minimum 4MB/s Transfer Rate
Class 6 - Guaranteed Minimum 6MB/s Transfer Rate
Sandisk standard SD are Class 2, Ultra II are Class 4 and Extreme III/IV are Class 6 afaik.
Personally, i'd rather base my decision on actual tested speeds as a lot of places will quote the Ultra II cards as fast enough to be Class 6 etc.
