So I finally caved in and bought a 16gb Ipod Touch. My justification is that the 16gb model over here is cheaper than the 8gb model in the UK. Just uploading my songs to it now and can't wait to have a good play :D

The funny thing is that I was in the Apple Store on 5th Avenue the other day and resisted buying one (although I did play with a macbook air and loved it). i finally picked mine up from a best buy just down the road from my sisters apartment. :D :D

That's so annoying tbh, I wouldn't mind an iPhone now they're that cheap, jailbroken with my PAYG SIM in it :(

I mean for customers - touch is £199, CPW and O2 are currently shifting 8gig iPhones for £169. My staff discount price for the 8gig iPhone is actually more expensive than that!

She's a lot better thanks dude.

I am really loving the touch now after playing with it more. A few niggles that I'm getting used to like the having to use itunes to sync music to it and it deleting music that's already on there unless I select it first. Also I have no idea how to put movies on it

Movies is easy, just add them to the 'Movies' library in iTunes, then drag them onto the iPod and then wait ages while it reencodes them :p

I'd suggest having a good look at the MediaMonkey beta, much nicer than iTunes should play nice with the touch (Davey needs to know this too!) and so many more options than iTunes could ever wish to have, EVER!

Or just use the iPodifier utility to encode them in the iPod ready format before you add them to the library ;)

I swear I must be special, I click on movies, then add file to library and nothing happens :( I try add folder to library and nothing happens :(

Downloading media monkey now to see if that helps.

EDIT: Is it because they are .avi's that it's not working?

I'm not sure how much mediamonkey will help with encoding files ready for the touch, since i don't have one, but for everything audio, once configured to how you like its basically the best jukebox software you can get :)

It might just be they've knobbed it, seems I can't add any new movies since i upgraded to 7.4

I think 7.6 is the latest, but i cant be bothered with the gigantic update download to try and see if it fixes it.

edit - all the ones there were Mpeg 4 though, so using Davey's utility is probably the best bet, I don't recall ever needing to do that before though tbh.

You're right, I ended up using a program called ipodme or something, and it's ace. A small program that re-encodes the files for use with an ipod and keeps the original. Takes about 20 minutes for a 40minute tv show. So I now have videos on my ipod :D

Now need to get hold of photoshop elements to transfer photos over.

If I were you i'd not bother with photos.

Dunno, was already updated when I bought it, the un-updated (?) was cheaper, but figured may aswell get one that's already sorted :D

You Apple tart! :D

So that's an iPod Classic, iPod Touch and iPhone?

What capacity are they?

And is that Nikkala I spot on the iPod Touch? :D

Mondo

They are indeed a classic, itouch and iphone. :D

The classic is 80G, iTouch is 16G, iPhone is 8G. The one i use least is the Classic.

and yup, Nikkala on the itouch :p
