Chelsea played Liverpool in the first leg of a Major title last night. Liverpool out played us & took a 1 nil lead. The game was pretty much over but in the 94th minute & 13 seconds we slung a ball in the box which that Ginger dude scored an own goal with ;D
The rest as they say is History

Not only did we get out played & get a draw we got an away goal scored by one of there players. Not only that but an away goal is worth more than a home goal so it gives us the advantage going in to the game at our ground. Not over but a damn site better than going into the next match 1 nil down ;)

94th minute? Wow lots of OT then? It's 90mins normally no?

I used to be offered box seats for Chelsea games in my old job, but never took up the offer as I don't like football :o

I don't think it's a game I'd get into myself if young again mate what with all these Big over priced gayers diving about. In my day it was more Gritty & a sport for Men

I have to say though what an unbelievable ending to a football match & the only reason i am allowing myself to publicly take the **** is because it is only half way & there will/may be ample oppurtunity for Liverpool fans to rub my face in it if they win the next half :)

23-04-2008, 09:29
Well I was going to say you couldn't score in 94 minutes of play, I'm not sure what you are so happy about :p

come next week you might regret this thread

Just having fun mate & enjoying the moment, We were Crap for sure & properly out played So to be taking an away goal to the Bridge is kin Marvelous. To get it through with an own goal by a ginggger at 94 mins 13 seconds when the game should have stopped at 94 minutes just adds to the whole madness of the moment. Still having a full game to decide the out come allows both sets of fans to proper have fun with this both knowing that it's not over.
You would think that after completly out playing us last night Liverpool would go Mental & steam us & be able to win by at least 3 goals even at Stamford Bridge, last night it should have been 3-0 to Liverpool.
You've got to score at the Bridge which willl make for a much better tie next round, Bring it on & lets hope there are 5 goals in the match, sendings off, injurys, crowd trouble, pitch invasions & even some weirdo dropping in by parachute.

It was a harsh end that. But I think you're right, if Liverpool tie up 4th place on Saturday (and I expect them too), they can throw everything they've got at the blues next week, which I hope will make for a better game.

I honestly think that Liverpool have a better chance even with it being at the Bridge & with past form there. Past form means **** in situations like this & we play Man u at the week end. On top of that Pool know they should have won that game which will piss them off enough to get that bit extra out of them, Especially players like Gerrard, He Always reacts well to a crap game & comes back twice as good.
I think we will rely on whether drogba Ballack & the likes are on form on the day & that is about it. Our manager makes decisions that confuse me so tactics will be out the window & like i say it'll be just down to how our individual players play on the night.
Best of all it is the 2nd leg so hopefully it'll be more FA cup style with balls to the wall & some drama thrown in to boot

I was going to taunt my Liverpool fan friends today but then I remembered that Birmingham are in the drop zone so I'm keeping quiet in the hope that they return the favour in a few weeks time should the worst happen.

Same here. Even as an Evertonian I hope Liverpool turn them over (and Man Utd to win the league as well).

Well, I'd rather Arsenal win the league tbh, but that's not going to happen so I'd rather Man Utd win it over Chelsea.

Davey_Pitch
28-04-2008, 14:59
Oh, I completely understand Liverpool fans feeling that way. Evertonians don't have the same hatred of Man Utd that Liverpool fans do (I just hate Fergie as he's a ****).

I don't much care who wins the league as I don't like either but I don't want either Chelsea or Man Utd to do the double and I *really* don't want to lose to utd in the CL final. Should utd go through against Barcelona tomorrow then I'll be watching Wednesdays game without really caring whether we win it or not.

Of course should we manage to beat utd in Moscow it would be the greatest night ever.

I already don't care if we get to the final, couldn't bare loosing to another british team.

I'd prefer Chelsea for the fact it would be less humiliating, but you lot are easier to beat :p

Robert

No true fan would would not want their team to go through, regardless of opposition.

Personally I'd rather play Liverpool in the final. Obviously nothing's set in stone and it'll be a solid match, I just think Chelsea are harder to break down.

Edit: I genuinely believe that away from Anfield you'd be easier than Chelsea. Obviously that doesn't guarantee any outcome.

Edit: And I'm not digging at Liverpool. Obviously either team would be an immense challenge.

I thought the definition of true-fan was someone who actually attended matches at their home ground Rob? :p

Robert
29-04-2008, 23:33
I have attended home matches.

I've even met Mr Busby.

I'll go and get a loan tomorrow and buy a ticket. Would that make me a true fan?

How many matches have you guys been to this season? That'a genuine quest, as I do not know.

And why do I get role eyes for stating my opinion?

Yes I am, I also had a good interview today. But I posted a serious post and got thrown roll eyes.

And yes, when I get started in a career of course I'd like to go to matches, but at the moment my income won't allow that. Anyways, off to bed nn.

Well it really wasn't a good idea to slate our striker the day before the match but all said & done the game was only won in the last few minutes. Both teams could have took it & as always luck plays a part on the night.
I'm glad for myself & Chelsea but equally sad for passionate liverpool supporters as i know how it feels to be knocked out as well :)
Cya next season

Only the fact that Everton stopped winning gave us that or we'd not be in Europe next year!

You're probably not wrong there. If our form over the past 6-7 games had been like the ones before it we'd probably be in 4th with a gap over you. Still, let's just hope we stay in 5th!

Good match tonight anyway, only real bad decision I thought was to not give the penalty for the foul on Hyppia. Everything else seemed ok, though I did miss large chunks of the match. The best team on the night won, but considering the way Liverpool dominated the 1st leg, perhaps the best team in the tie went out.

Should make for a cracking final anyway. Whichever one doesn't win the league will have even more incentive to win the final. Should be a few tasty challeges in there :D
