You need to get these tracks by the Jam as well young'un.
Butterfly collector.
Going Underground.
In the city.
Pretty Green.
At Guildford the stage went Black & 1 light came on following Rick Butler to the drums, he started a rythm.
Then Bruce Foxton came out tapping his Bass.
Then out of nowhere Paul Weller lept across the stage the Whole place went Green & he Shouted "I've got a Pocket Full of Pretty Green" The whole place said the last 2 words with him & then just kicked the **** off
After the gig there were around 50 skinheads outside waiting to beat on the Mods that turned up. We Leathered the Living crap out of them catching hold of about 20 of them & proper Slaughtering them ;D Whilst the others ran off screaming like Girls.
Revenge is Sweet as the Skinheads had it there own way for ages but Times were a Changing ;)
Factoid.
Went to that gig 6 up in an Angle box :D

Shout if there's any you want. :)
I've probably got a lot more where those came from too. I'll go a-hunting but it'll take a few days to get them all ripped and collected. :)
PS - Yup - you can even rickroll yourself if you so wish. :D

I have a huuuge amount of 80s stuff. I'll make a list over the next couple of days but it may have to wait until I get back home next Friday before I can upload any of it.
Right - just found another 20 double compilation CDs from the 80s. Since I'm gradually working through ripping as much as I can find anyway I'll move those to the front of the queue.

I wouldn't mind pinching some of these too if people don't mind :D
I am the master of 80's cheese music. But the problem I have is no way to get it to you. Maybe I could transfer my collection to my son's laptop then go to McDonald's and use their WiFi. No idea how to do that, though. I also only have 100Mb of space available on my ftp hosting...
I guess I could burn it all to a DVD and post it to someone, if they don't mind it taking a couple weeks to arrive.
I dont mind waiting Darrin, if you're happy to do that of course :) PM me if you want my address, and Ill sort you out with a token of thanks ;)
Heh, I will warn you that most of my collection is 80's "hair" rock. Poison, AC/DC, Whitesnake, Skid Row, G&R, etc. But there is some of the 80's Pop in there as well. Pat Benetar, Roxette, Loverboy, Men in Hats, Men at Work, etc.
I'd have to drop it on 2 DVD's as there's over 8GB in there. And that doesn't include my death metal collection, the opera, classical, or "easy listening" stuff like Roger Whittaker. I'll see what I can do about getting it started burning, then get postal info from you when it's ready to go.
All I ask in return is that you "spread the wealth". A lot of what I have is no longer available in non-digital format. 12" singles, radio-only versions, etc. So download from multiple sources is the only availability. Just as an instance I have 3 or 4 different versions of Peter Schilling's Major Tom (Coming Home) and two or three versions of Haddaway's What Is Love (neither one the movie version either).

I have about 20 albums here ready to burn to a DVD
it may duplicate a few things you have/get, but better have more than less :D
PM me an address to post the DVD to
OK - I have a slight problem. I discovered that there were some audio drop-outs and other errors in the rips I've already done (100 and counting). No point doing high quality encoding if the source is broken. Currently investigating the cause but I'll need to fix the rips I've already done as they're my holiday collection. :/
Luckily the bit that takes the most time - tagging all the files - is stored seperately so I can just schlep CDs in and hit 'rip'. Still a weekend of re-ripping I could have done without. :(

I just discovered a folder on my computer called "1000 Hits of the 80s" and it does indeed have 1000 cheesetastic songs on there. DVD sized as well so I can pop it in the post for you if you want Dee? :)
Yes purleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!!!! :)

I've had a rummage and I've collected 5.7GB of stuff. A lot of it is on "Best of" type albums so some of it isn't technically 80s but all from 80s bands or artists.
I'll bung it on disks and post it when I get back to Blighty.
If everybody sends you all their music, it's gonna take aaaaaaages to sort out all the duplicate stuff :p
Just to let you know I haven't forgotten. I'm back home from holidays. If you're not drowning in stuff I'll be ripping the rest of my CDs over the next two weeks (takes ages).
No problem, thanks Mark :) Was about to update this thread soon anyways :)
