Oh yeah. I was up at 6am this morning to get photos of 2 very large cranes being demolished at Birkenhead docks. The demolition didn't happen till 8am but they were closing the roads off at 7am so I had to be there before then. I stood around for an hour in the rain waiting for the bang. It was really impressive to watch. 1 minute before they sound a siren, then 30 seconds before a flare went up followed by a 10 second countdown. The woman filming for the Discovery channel warned us it would be loud. She wasn't kidding. There was a BANG and the BOOOOOOOM. I could feel the boom and the shockwave as it hit me. Then these 2 giant cranes just fell over. Video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY-y7Yks50I)

Probably not no :) Apparently they'll be fully dismantled by tomorrow. Crazy.

I love those pictures but the thread title is misleading tbh.

I really like the first picture with the reflection in the water, i'm no photographer at all, but i assume you hold the exposure for a little while to achieve that? Nice effect :)

It all depends on the conditions. On that day the water really was that still. However on this day it wasn't so I used a long exposure to calm it down.
