View Full Version : Too hot? Already?!
Unbelievable. I scootered into work with a smile on my face in the most glorious sun this morning and my colleague says 'I was gonna go for a run tonight but its going to be too hot.' Are you kidding me? Its 20 degrees outside! And don't get me started on the sunburn, I'm almost milk bottle white and never tan, I managed to spend all day Sunday outside without getting burnt - sort it out!

Good Bank holiday weekend everyone?
Miserable sods. How can someone complain in winter that its too cold and they cant wait for summer, then when summer rolls around, its always too hot?
Get a grip you bunch of pansies.
It's lovely weather. Perfect even, because it's not gotten the horrible muggy sweaty stage yet. It's cool of an evening and simply warm of a day.
Having just spent the last week in California, to come back to this weather is bloody magnificent, long may it continue

I love the hot weather . . although today is tough.. Ait con has broken down and I got half way through workout and felt it big time.
Does take a few weeks to climatise.

Sunny SUNNY SUNNY SUNNY SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNyyYYyyYYYYY!
I was soooooo happy to see the sun this morning - I thought "YAAAAAAAAAY SUN SUN SUN SUN SUN"!
After waiting in doors for a while for a STOOPID delivery (which never turned up - RAGH) I decided to go play with the Trio for a bit in the garden to enjoy the sun.
Me: "Trioooooooooooooo ......... Where's your ball?! Eh? Eh? Eh? Find it!!!"
Me: *runs up onto the garden*
Trio: *finds ball - WAG WAG WAG WAG WAG*
Me: "OoooH good Trio!" *runs around garden chasing Trio........ plod plod plod plod plod plod plod plod*
*SQUISH*
Me: "Uh Nuh"

It IS too bloody hot, especially when sat in a car with no air con for 4 hours, and my right arm is red :(

Stuck in the office in the cold :(
Roll on tomorrow lunchtime, I wanna sit on the grass out on the green :)

You never fail to make me laugh Pheebs :D
How can people complain that it's too hot? It's gorgeous! I've been outside most of the day in the garden (albeit under a shade otherwise I couldn't see the laptop screen) and will most likely be out here for a while yet.
I can't wait for it to get warmer!
At lunchtime today, my coworkers were all eating outside on picnic benches, but I went out and thought it was still too cold.
It's beautiful and today was the second time I have worn short sleeves in this country! I am loving it!
I love it when it gets hot, the ladies start wearing less clothes, it can only be a good thing :D
Thankfully the office has air con as does my car. It helped enormously when I drove to the shops at dinner.

i had a gooooorgeous ride home
i love the summer!! if it's like this (at least mostly) between now and september i'll be more than happy
(though it does mean i need to start sneaking suncream into jaspers glovebox (fnar))
I love it when it gets hot, the ladies start wearing less clothes, it can only be a good thing :D
ladies of southampton - i think you should stick your bikinis back in the draw for another month or so, you almost made me fall of my bike
I HATE hot weather - urgh. Inescapable heat is the single worst thing ever.
20c in the shade is bearable, any hotter than this and I really really hate it.
Temps in the low teens are perfect IMO, providing the humidity is also low!
There was a lovely breeze in town earlier. I had to photograph a dance performance and it was just so nice to be out, doing what I enjoy, enjoying the breeze and being distracted by attractive girls. Its pretty much perfect right now. Annoying that it'll get hotter, but right now its nice.
I just don't do heat so it is too hot for me in summer, i prefer the winter nice cold frosty mornings to wander about in. Summer for me is avoid the sun as much as i can as a redhead plus very fair skin plus add in Scottish means i can end up with skin redder than my remaining hair if i am not careful.
So bah humbug to this heat :(

Went for lunch at Valeries and sat outside! :D
Was brilliant! Lovely weather and yummiest Caesar salad I have had for ages :D
Strawberry milkshake too... nom! :D
Was in a meeting this afternoon and I have a tanline around my feets lol!

I loooove this weather. It's warm, and agreeable - just right for the UK.
Who likes short shorts?
We like short shorts...
I just love summer. I come from the land of eternal summer (I'll admit that August in Hawaii is a bit miserable but for the most part I'm happy as a clam).
Are clams happy a lot? That's the nicest saying!! :D:D
I can haz sunburn after sitting in a pub garden all afternoon :D

I wore a skirt today and have been annoyingly upbeat and summery and i'll stay this way unless it goes above 26oC at that event i will complain loudly that it is too hot as i sizzle away what is left of my pasty Scottish skin.
Got sunburn yesterday, this was not unexpected though as vampires require less sunblock than i do.

Being completly Skint & Unemployed doesn't seem quite as bad on days like these.
I get to stroll about town looking at the Hottys & get to play in my garden & generally Doss about.
I did my daily job apps early & took Full advantage of being Completly Free
I get to stroll about town looking at the Hottys
I get to photograph them, for perfectly valid reasons before anyone suggests I'm hiding in a bush :p
as vampires require less sunblock than i do.
;D Love it ;D Sounds about right for me too :o
Loving the weather, its really pulling me out of my low mood.
For me about 25C is perfect but then everyone says I have iced water in my veins so it takes me longer to get up to temperature :o
Only problem I have discovered is last year we didn't really have much heat so my "summer" clothes (especially my work ones) didn't come out of the wardrobe. The summer before that I was over 3 stone heavier, this means all my clothes are very much on the baggy side which, whilst can be nice a cool, isn't really "smart" for work :o
as vampires require less sunblock than i do.
Yeah sums me up as well when it comes to the sun exactly :p
By time i lather on what seems like factor 1000 i have paler skin than when i started lol

I got hives on my chest and red not quite burnt arms yesterday from painting the house all day. Started again at 6pm tonight and I've gone all red again! Damn evening sun :D Put suncream on my face this time though.

Not too keen on the heat, being from as far North in Scotchland as you can get :(
It's a bit of a pain in the summer as I work in the searing heat of Egypt and get very little in the way of respite when I get home.
When you've been used to maximum summer temperatures of about 18C for most of your life; to get thrown in at the deep end by working in a place where 40+C is not uncommon in the summer and then come back to Englandshire and have to put up with 25+C is a bit of a nightmare.
Roll on autumn :p
I love it when the sun comes out :D Was working in the garden when I got home last night and no doubt I'll do the same tonight.

Grr at visitors!!!!
Where I work, I have to open the door to visitors (security measure).
I'm starting to get annoyed with people telling me how lovely and glorious and warm and sunny the weather is - yes I know it is lovely, I can see it out of the window, I want to be out in it, but I'm stuck inside and all you are doing is rubbing it in :p

Try working in a secure area, where it takes 5 mins just to be let in / out. It's a pain - so I seldom go outside at the moment :(
It's freaking gorgeous again. Just like yesterday I've been out in the garden all day. I'm far from a sun worshipper but I'm loving the weather today.
Why did I sell my MX5?! :'(
Because you wanted to look more manly. It worked!
Looks can be deceptive though!
I'm loving it too!
I am also loving how many people don't know that it's time to wear sunscreen and so have pleasantly pink complexions:-D
Evil of me, but it's cute. It reminds me of home.
Sunburn on a warm day is a very British thing. Perhaps even more British than cups of tea.
I was getting too big for it really... but still... why!!!!!! :(
I'm sure I said to you at the time that you'd miss it. But if you've made it this far without really missing it then you can't be missing it all that much I suppose.
Surely the nice comfy leather seats and bigger boot make up for the lack of wind in the hair (*snigger*) motoring?

They say unless its at least SPF 25 its pretty much worthless. They may have increased that to 35 in the last few years. I don't even know why they SELL that crap SPF 6 stuff. It's a waste of money...slather some water on and you get the same results.

I hate to think what i'm going to be like this summer, you'd never believe i used to go the loveliest shade of golden brown when i was younger and didn't seem to even need sun block (of course i got it slathered on anyway).
Sadly Eddie i think you are right, i'm going to be taking 30 and 50 away with me, i can't risk the pain and discomfort this summer, need to be able to move lol.
Lana, you're right 25+ or it is pretty much useless in warmer climates. But this is Scotland :( even with 15 on i should be going backwards and getting paler.
I don't ever wear sunscreen (well not never - I did in the sahara, and when taking part in a 3 week yacht race around the med) - don't particulalry feel the need for it unless you spend hours sunning yourself - and by the time I spend sunning myself I've already developed a big tan and just put on the bare minimum. I know there's probably a risk, but as long as you're not an idiot in the sun I don't feel the need to really worry that much. I'd never ever tell anyone else not to wear sunscreen though - it's just something my father and I never have bothered with really.

I'm lucky that along with my bro, we just have to look at the sun and we go a nice colour :) I will say that I am a sun worshipper, but the only times I am are: here, where it barely stains and on hols, where the lotion is uberapplied, even with 25 it gets through.
I've never used sunbeds and always apply if out in the strong sun for long periods of time. Would never go without it, too much of a risk - even though you are not crisping up or noticibly going red, it doesn't go to say that you are not damaging your skin.

I actually can't breath from laughing so much, i thought i was a bit pink but my little sister came in form work half an hour ago. She fell asleep in the Meadows with her friend today wearing not a smidge of sun block. I got lots of SMS messages from my servers - allll complaining about the heat. :(
Forgot to switch the aircon on before I left this morning.
I have absolutely no choice but to wear suncream when it's like this. What I thought were hives on Sunday are actually little blisters. To make it worse, I get a skin reaction to most suncream so I have to buy sensitive skin or kids. Oh, and because of my blonde hair, I usually get a burnt scalp too, so it's a hat for me.
Leon enjoys laughing at me re-applying my suncream every 25 seconds on holiday whilst he just turns a beautiful brown. Meh!! :p
Well, forecast here is sunny today/Saturday and then light rain on Sunday so I'll be sat in the garden under my parasol revising. Hopefully it'll be nice next week too because I'm on exam leave Thu/Fri. Actually looking forward to the time off this time around!! :D

I'm similar to you - I soak up the sun and just go brown. You are more of a sun worshipper than me that's for sure! Yeah I don't do sunbeds, I don't care if my skin goes old and wrinkly when I'm old, I don't have to worry about being beautiful :p

I'm lucky I don't burn too easily. I used to sunbathe when I was younger with little or no cream. Looking back it was pretty stupid so if I lay in the sun now, it's with at least SPF15 all over.
