How well this thread will work I don't know - I often create recipes from whatever I have in the cupboard and fridge. Some more random than others! I thought it might be nice to have a 'Something I threw together and it came out yummy' thread. So here goes with the first recipe:

Spiced tomaotey prawns - all amounts are random as it was just what was in the fridge:

cooked prawns
baby sweet pepper chopped
red onion chopped
leek chopped
garlic puree
couple cherry tomatoes halved
glug of Reggae Reggae sauce
good squirt of tomato ketchup
good squirt of sweet chilli sauce (the thai dipping kind)
tsp olive oil

Fry the onions, leeks, garlic and peppers in the oil for a few minutes until starting to soften. Add the tomatoes and allow to heat through and just about to go squishy Add the prawns and cook for a few minutes. Add the reggae reggae sauce, chilli sauce and ketchup and heat through.

I served mine over a jacket potato with a bit of side salad. Yum!

I will note at this point that I have become somewhat addicted to Reggae Reggae sauce :o

us too!
(though jasper thinks the new bottle reggae reggae isn't as tasty as the original bottle we had before it was in supermarkets)
reggae reggae is awesome in and on everything - yesterday we had sausage and egg sarnies with it, but it is equally as good as a dip, in chillis and on anything with cheese in.
mmmmm!

Pheebs once made the best pudding ever. Dunno what was in it, but it tasted of chocolate and had the texture of tuna.

Was that my "Poo Dessert" thing!?

I think it consisted of lots of mini mars bars, some milky way stars, some galaxy and a couple of mini boxes of cornflakes and rice crispies all fused together!! I don't think I will ever be able to replicate it again, it was seriously very special ;)

you have a better stocked cupboard than me... i generally take the 'throw it in a pan' option from a terrible selection generally consisting of...
chopped tomatos, beans, kidney beans, coconut milk, single cream, panceta, eggs, pasta
then a vast array of herbs and spices and maybe some thai curry paste.

have made some truly random things in the past :/
