Tis my Daddies birthday today and as a keen golfer I decided to take him to a pitch and putt and have a silly afternoon! Haven't played in AGES but have always thoroughly enjoyed it...

... and I was GENIUS! So impressed with myself! I don't think I quite have the right etiquette for a proper golf course as such (I was leaping about and cheering and my Daddy was farting loudly and we were charging about) buuuut we played well!

I nearly got a birdie I did too! *excited* Have improved so so much and think I'm going to have to do this more regularly as I can hit the blooming thing straight, I can hit it up in the air... I just need to improve on putting and hitting further (when I try to hit it further I force it through and end up going squeewy... though towards the end I had learned to **** it using my shoulders and not my arms :))

Anyone else play le golf here?!

*likes it* :D

LOL also, funny thing on the course, after I tee'd off a genius shot I looked up and saw a chappy behind stood over a pondy bit with a fishing rod.

Me: "Woaaaaaaaaah Daaad! Check it out! You can fish here too!"
My Daddy: "Erm... Dear, that's a ball retriever rod!"

Doh!

He showed me his retriever when we'd finished and they're ace! :D

*edit* fashion wise, cos it's a P&P I wore the jeans! :D Last time I went on a proper golf course though I wore some short shorts (they were almost hot-pant-esque) and I borrowed a pair of two sizes-too-big golf shoes as I didn't have my own (changed into my trainers half way across the course :)) I was UBERLY frowned upon though :(

HAHahahaha, one time my daddy told me that when I tee'd off to shout "FOOOORE" like a proper golfer would (we were on a different but equally posh golf course). So I kinda acknowledge him, had a few practice shots and then lined up....

Me: *swoosh - CLINK - WOooSH* "FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!"
Daddy: "SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN"
Us: "BWahahahahHAHAHAHhaHAHHAhahahahha"
Other People: "Tsh tsh" *frowning faces*

;D ;D ;D

My Pa's a legend!

Never played anything other than Crazy Golf (which probably dosn't count), my ex boss was trying to convince me it was great fun, I still kind of think it is spoiling a good walk.

I have the hand-eye coordination of a...of a...of a something with no hand-eye coordination :o I'd probably end up killing someone (or myself ;D )

I used to play a lot before my mates from school moved away from the area. We're having a reunion round on the 7th of June though, can't wait!

I useds to go to the driving range quite regularly with my brother. Then when I started this job I was spending a lot of time staying down in Kent and the hotel I normally used had an 18 hole course so I'd often have 9 holes before dinner. I was totally useless though.

The only time I've managed to hit two balls straight together was when I stood on a rake.

I hate golf...

Dude, she asked if you played golf. ;)

She was happy with what she got :D

A golf course is the wilful misuse of a perfectly good rifle range.

Maybe you could combine the two?

I thought it'd be about the car too. Pheebs? You? Play golf. I certainly didn't see that one coming. So much for the stereotype (in a good way). :)

If you think you have a problem with hand-eye coordination, you ain't seen nothing yet. :p

Why did I know you were going to say that? I'm sure some accommodation could be made (on their part). ;D

Burble - you can't be too bad if you used to pot around on the driving range/a nine holer?

It's blooming putting that gets me. I'm constantly doing a Happy Gilmore "juuuuust taaaaaap it in....... tap tap taaaaaaaparooo!" Grrr to putting (which inevitably means I am useless at crazy golf!)

Burble and Belmit - I demand a game off you boys then! :D It will be fun! And don't say no! Picky enjoys golf but is kinda conscious he doesn't do that brilliantly (I think he would after practice! Afterall it's just physics really - right up his street!)

Hehehehe, when at school during PE (and it wasn't volleyball or rounders) I would beg the teacher to let me whack a handful of balls up and down the field! They initially didn't allow me to until we had a new head who LOVED golf (get in there! I could get away with murder from that point onwards! She loved me!)

Golf is COOOOOOOOOOOL! The attire isn't great, but I currently don't play anywhere posh enough to worry about that (though Pa did say he thought I was a gazillion times better than he anticipated - last time I played I was still off with my aim - and that I would be able to go on a proper one again soon no worries :D)

You get to chase a ball about and thwack it as hard as you can! That's fun!

I R a bit sad there are no keen keen players though :( Booooooooo!

I'm worse than 'not that bad' plus it's been about 8 years since I last swung a golf bat but I'd be up for a round :)

Is it a coincidence that it's about 8 years since I played golf, but I've been driving a VW Golf for about the same length of time?

I wouldn't play it if I was any good, that's no fun! Some of the funniest days I've had were when me and my two mates used to do 9 holes at our local club, because we were all as ****e as each other. One memorable occasion on the first hole; my mate Leon missed the ball completely on his first go, then clipped it on his second ('Good enough boys!), then I sliced mine almost at a right angle onto the 9th hole. The last guy hooked it into the shubbery directly on the left of the hole. Good times!

I'm a bit like Burble. I used to play the odd round now and then but haven't played in years. I wouldn't mind giving it another bash sometime. I'm pretty useless - I have a horrendous slice off the tee so I'd need to have a couple of lessons off a pro first.

Maybe when I get my car, I'll fetch my old, cheapo clubs from Shetland and have a bash (can you actually fit golf clubs in the boot of a MKII MR2?).

Love that film.

"Son of a bitch ball. Why can't you go home? Aren't you good enough for your home? ANSWER ME! Suck my white ass ball! "

I love golf, and used to play quite often a few years ago, but I think I've only been the driving range once in about 5 years (and strangely enough was hitting the ball straighter and further than ever). It's definitely something I'm looking to get back into now the weather is improving again.

Haven't played much golf but my mate keeps telling me we'll go to the driving range sometime I just need to get round to going :D

Crazy golf on the other hand is ace! Kitten was most unimpressed when I suggested it but really enjoyed.

We should go the driving range at Aintree at some point, it's excellent there :)

I'm a pretty rubbish golfer. its sad really, because my house at home is on the edge of a golfcourse, and my dad is a member so I could technically golf a lot if I were so inclined. My tendency i to line up the club, swing...and miss entirely, thereby hurting my shoulder and feeling foolish. I've been to driving ranges and had people try to correct me....oh well. I'm not the best golfer and I have learned to accept that about myself:-P
My dad enjoys it, and we all like to go outside in hardhats and heckle him when he passes by. Its great:-D

Well, if you prefer ice hockey, why not play golf with roller skates on :)

Simple! :D
