View Full Version : Headphones
I'm after a set of headphones for plugging into my AV receiver which is mainly used for watching tv shows and movies. Not sure how much I want to spend but no more than £50 really as the sound on some of the tv shows isn't best really.
Thanks.

I think you're gonna be quite limited with a budget of £50 for over-ear headphones.
I'd look at Beyerdynamic, but they're pretty pricey :( can only find one pair below £50.
I really like this pair - http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/dt-990/805
but quite a bit over budget.
Depends whether you want "surround sound" headphones, or just standard stereo.
Stereo is fine, if it really comes to it, I can go over budget.
I got some sennheiser 580 fro richer sounds for 55 quid, but that was a while ago, worth a try.
I still have a pair of these (http://www.gradolabs.com/product_pages/sr60.htm) I'm prepared to sell in nearly new condition (bought five years ago, used a few times, didn't get on with, got them out recently and replaced the earpads for sale). They're at the bottom end of the Grado range but that doesn't mean they're cheap and nasty.
New examples go on eBay for £50-ish, so if you're interested I'll offer them for £40 (inc. P&P) negotiable and see where we go. :)

Very unlikely sadly. They seen to sell 2nd hand for more than that. I picked up 2 sets when they were first discontinued for £50 each. :D
Sadly - now deadded. :(
If you can find a pair - the are superb.

They are seriously good, although a bit over your budget - Richer Sounds will price match to £80 which is the online price.
You also get to walk round looking like a pretentious git ;)
Edit : Just saw Mark's post - Bite his hand off :D

Sounds like a deal to me. Let us know how you'd like paying dude. :)
£80  - looks like I've swindled myself again. :'(
And I just had to check them to make sure they still worked, didn't I? Yes, they do sound very good, but fortunately I still don't get on with the earpads. :'(
Still, a deal's a deal. BT or PayPal (prefer BT). :)
