View Full Version : Liverpool street commuters: Station shut!
I know a couple of you use the station, and might not have heard:

Special timetable:

Ugh. Someone's going to have a nasty bill from that one, especially if the collapse has caused damage to nearby property as well. Wrong kind of concrete, perhaps? :/
S'good innit, they knock a bridge down that's been there for 100 years, and replace it with one that lasts 100 days :D
Trains running into L'pool st. again apparently.
Aye, went to the station this morning....
guard - "Everyone has to get off at Stratford and take the tube in"
me - "Erm.... you know how bad Stratford is normally, how on earth will it cope with all the extra people coming in?"
guard - "........"
me - "Think about it ....... Are they accepting tickets on C2C?"
guard - "Erm ......... *calls manager*, we think they might be, dunno"
Remember people Stratford is the main hub for the olympics and it will be able to cope with trains coming and going every 12secs..... right ;)
I heard reports of trains being stopped before the station due to overcrowding and the tube not coping. Shenfield was stuffed as well.
I got the C2C in from Thurrock which was fine, still annoying. Fine the gits back to the stoneage!! Funny how the Victorian bridge managed to stay up for over 100 years and modern tech lasts one month :D
They are now saying that they will have a service running this evening, bugger that i'll be off early today
edit:- snap!
:D
I'm hoping to spend tomorrow in London, hopefully nothing else will fall over in the mean time!

Got in about 2 hours late.. Cheers for the message Mat, I went for a bacon butty at Stratford.
This is the same bloody bridge that's already forced me to take two days off as it is.. I wouldn't mind but this has nothing to do with the improvement of our service.
My brother is a civil engineer and works on our rail network bridges. I think I shall have a slight dig the next time I see him...

Give me his number so I can claim back my 2 holidays and half of today :p
Just poped into Liverpool St. and everything appears to be normal. A few cancellations most likely due to trains being in the wrong place.
In his defense, he does concentrate on the bridges that have been around for many years, rather than the new(ish) ones.
Plus, he is rather good. Not that I'm proud of him or anything.
I'd love to know what happened this time.
