Spore is your own personal universe. You can create and evolve life, establish tribes, build civilisations, sculpt worlds, and explore the cosmos. Spore is made up of five games, each corresponding to a stage of evolution: Cell, Creature, Tribe, Civilisation, and Space. Each stage presents different challenges and goals.

They have just released the Creature Creator (http://eu.spore.com/getspore/) yesterday so I'll be having a play with the trial of that soon :)

I'm definitely looking forward to it. Had a play with the Creature Creator and started making some very strange beasts out of it. Lots of fun to be had :)
Here's hoping that even with the scope of the game (going all the way from microbiotic to cross-universe life) it'll be well balanced.

Yeah - I remember being told about it months and months (and months) ago, went "ooooo" and then forgot when nothing new happened for ages :o

It sounds like there are sort of transition points in the evolution timeline where the gameplay changes. I'm not sure if this will be a good thing or a bad thing in practice but sounds like the grand vision has already undergone a bit of tinkering with during play testing.

Having fun with the creature creator trail/demo/thingy so far - may even splash out the £5 and buy the full version :)

deff looking forward to this. Got the full creature creator. TBH I wouldn't waste your money. It gets a bit boring when you can't do anything with them. Can't wait for September.

I got the demo version (real one on order from game - long story*) but it frequently crashes when trying to save and when I go back in it has wiped my created creatues. I have created one, but I know that I've done all I can to it. Every time I add a couple of extra things the save fails and I have to start all over again :(

* Game have an offer for £5 off an order over £30 (as linked from these forums in another thread) So I ordered Civilization Revolution for £29.99 and spore creature creator for £4.99 to get the £5 off. HOWEVER! get the CC from GAME and they email you with a code to get £5 off of spore when it comes out.. Add to that quidco - I done good!

Any time I added the "babies" to that one it got really depressed ;D

The 4th pic was actually the first one I made and he was just happy and smiling all the time esp with the "babies" - such an odd laugh too ;D

I think you mean full Creature Creator rather that "real demo" - there is a free trial (with 25% of parts) or the full thing for £5 and I think most places are doing the £5 off the full Spore game if you get the full CC :)

To get the trial to run, I ended up having to delete a .dll file and download a new version from the EA website as it just wouldn't start at all. Not had any problems since I did that so it might be worth looking though the help section of ea at the very least :)

pish posh.. you know what I meant :p. As for the problem I wonder if its a vista 64 problem... :( I have done a search but no-one seems to have a solution yet. Could do it on the downstairs compoota, but the onboard gfx makes it run like poop. Lots of fun though!!

I've managed to recover lost creatures, but its hit and miss. I;ve tried running as administrator and deleted EA downloader... will have more of a try at the weekend when I have the full version - ta for the advice tho!!
