View Full Version : My parents have been robbed!
My mum and brothers got up at about 6.30am to find out they'd been robbed :(
My brother Simon's 3-4 day old brand new laptop has gone. Xbox Ipod and creative zen. I think another laptop has gone too.
I bet it was all taken for drug money waste of space arseholes.
Luckily they was all sleeping and nobody got hurt.

That's always crap when that happens but at least no one was harmed. I take it they don't have an alarm?
Bah, sorry to hear that :(
Touch wood *fumbles around in lap* I've never been robbed.
Bummer :( Like you said, at least no one was harmed.
Been robbed (if you can call it that) only once. Someone from school (when I was at school) broke into my house to have a look around, only took £10 thankfully, left everything else. Scared the hell out of our (then) new young dog :(
That sucks. How did they get in?
Hopefully they haven't done what my parents do, and only switch the alarm on when they leave the house.

Bollocks :( that is dreadful.
Just tell them to be careful that they don't end up coming back.

My brother had this at uni, wait until everything gets replaced on insurance and go in again. Not to frighten your parents but its a possibility.
One thing I was glad of when we got broken into was that it was when I was at work, if I'd been in the house I don't think I'd have been able to stay there. I still get paranoid of odd noises when I'm in the house on my own now and its been over a year :(

That feeling never goes :(
My Mum said that the window was open a crack (double glazed so shut on the latch) god knows how the pressed button on the handle and pulled handle to open it. :/
They haven't got alarm but I'm sure they'll invest in one now.
Not sure if they'll come back. doubt they'll come back for 40inch progecter telly and thats about all that was left apart from dvd player and sky box.
I think it was just lucky rob for druggies. Hopefully they'll have left finger prints.

Thats whats worrying me about my Mum as my Dad is disabled but luckily two of my Brothers are living at home still.
Don't think Simon would be able to protect them.
I'm on my own tonight :( as Faysh is working but luckily he is at Banbury station so atleast he's just down the road.

**** news Dude but I am glad nobody got hurt.
Hope it hasn't effected them to much.
Sometimes it's best for them to sleep through it. One of my friends took on a couple of thieves (kids) and nearly killed one (I'm not exaggerating) and seriously injured the other (broken leg). He was done for excessive use of force and the kids didn't get a sodding thing - well I think they had to do community service or something like that, one was 15 the other 17. It's almost better to let them get away with it :/
Sorry ot hear that - hopefully the insurance will cover their losses. :)
Just spoke to my Mum again and they took.
Simon's bag with keys, psp and creative zen in it.
Xbox, brand new laptop, brand new ipod, mobile phone, and another laptop i think.
They're waiting for forensic people and locks to be changed.
Will thats so crap :( why shouldn't people defend themselves? doesn't matter how old the kids were as they still could have badly hurt or killed your friend.
Thats horrible :( Little scrotes, hopefully they can invest in an alarm or something which will help them feel more secure.
Lom, tis Faysh.
If I don't see you before work, show these two things to your mum/dad.

think we should get one too... :(
Hope I see them in Custody tonight!!
Its a horrible feeling :( We were burgled while we were in bed about 9 years ago. Sophie was asleep in her own room and we didn't hear a thing, they came right into the house too :( Doesnt bear thinking about really, Sophie could have been gone and we wouldnt have known a thing.
I had panic attacks at night for a while, poor Mike would get up with me at 4am to check all the locks etc night after night. We had an alarm fitted which I will admit I never use. If it went off when I was in the house I think I'd have a heart attack. There's a box on the front of the house, given the choice of a two houses, one with a box it's a bit of a no brainer which they'll go for I'd have thought.
It's really really not worth taking them on though. Little bastards.

Bastards.
My Gran and Grandad were burgled (when they were still alive) and its not just the expensive things they take, its the invasion of personal space, the thought that someone else has been in your house, without your permission and been through your things. They didnt take much of monetary value, more sentimental things that had been in the family for decades.
The house I live in now, when it was being converted into the main house and the flats its divided up into, the builders got into a dispute over not being paid (they had stuffed up on a few jobs and were sacked) the new kitchen appliances that had just been fitted in all the kitchens suddenly disappeared one night. It couldnt be proven, but we're pretty sure it was the builders who came to collect their "unpaid bill"

That's bad news Lom :( I hope your folks aren't too traumatised by the experience.
I was burgled once. I heard the sound of change rattiling whilst half asleep and assumed it was my brother who I shared the flat with. I then woke up, realising my brother was staying at my folk's that night (was Xmas night). I got up for a look and found the front door open (I hadn't locked it in case my brother changed his mind - he's crap with keys when he's pished). I ran to the living room and phoned the polis and while I was doing that, I heard a movement from the lobby. I ran out and just saw him disappear out the door - unfortunately, I couldn't give chase as I was bollock naked. The bastard had been in my brother's room while I was on the phone to OB.
When I went through to put some clothes on for the arrival of plod, I found my trouser pockets empty - he had been rifling my pockets a couple of feet away from me when I was sleeping
That kinda unnerved me a bit.
*Update* A friend of a friend has been offered a laptop and an Xbox 360. :/
Faysh has been down the nick and given the Burglary Squad the name.

Actually, because the friend of a friend won't give a statement to that effect there's not much they can do other than submit the name on a "72" for the file.
Faysh is going to buy one of these
