View Full Version : Oh dear
Just doubled checked and realised that I have spent about £930 on computer bits since May :o I'd say I'd need to hide my cards, but I know my debit card details off by heart, not sure if that is a good thing or not :( Didn't actually realise that it was that much :(
Hope I get that pay rise now *gulp*
Yeah I know my debit card details, it took me less than a week to remember the new number etc when my old card expired. Unfortunately I can't even say what I've spent my money on over the last six months as it goes on so many different things!
My bank account is the healthiest it has been in years! :D
Until I pay off my credit card which I am going to do in a moment :(
Meh... well at least I can cut up some plastic! (But can't help thinking of all the other things I could have done with the money - like bought a car?! booo!)

I dont even open my bank statements! when i needed proof of adres for something earlier, I looked in my handbag to see if I had any post, and found loads of unopened bank statements.\
oops.

Same as me then, apart from the handbag thing anyway ;) I tend to forget to open bank statements as I check my balance online and track it that way.
Yeah me too... think I will sign up to online statements anyway... although the paper statements have come in useful when I had to argue about a payment that I HAD made to my managing agents last year :p

I don't tend to look at bank statements either but that's because I obsessively check my online banking at least twice a day :D Pretty much at all times, I know exactly what my balance is.
I also have my debit card number memorised within a week of getting it.

I only use online banking so I gave up paper statements years ago :) I generally have a rough idea of what is in there though and I think I know my DC number by heart, but I still like to check everytime I use it online :o

I'd be bricking myself if I were afraid to open my bank statements.
I normally know to the nearest £100 how much is in my current account plus I get a text message from the bank when large amounts go in or out of the account.
I check our main account online daily and also run a separate spreadsheet with all payments in and out logged. I know what should be there at any time in the month and it also helps to spot anything fraudulent if they don't match up. It also helps to keep control of our spending. When you see it written down and the difference it makes to your balance, you more often than not go without :)
wouldn't have a clue what I spent on comp parts but not much at a guess as I buy pretty much everything second hand
WHat I can remember
£20 on tv card
~£100 on two hdd cards
£40 on a awsooommmmeee case
~£60 on silent cooling, but foiled by my mobo and gfx card which I'm not willing to fix untill I've upgraded them
And just trated myself to a new keyboard, mouse and mat. No one was in to day says they posted a card, but no sign of a card, so will have to phone up tomorrow and see where I can pick it up from. Bet it's miles away.

(crys my last keyboard and mouse cost under a £10 brand new)

I do this for my bank balance to work out what I've spent on food for us etc., but not my own personal expenses. I really do need to start doing it as I always end up with sweet FA at the end of the month, even when I don't think I've spent anything. I do check my balance every few days though and scan my online statements to make sure there aren't any strange transactions I don't remember making.
