Completly Legit question/request :)

I need a download of a complete Windows XP SP3 up to date that I can use with my reg code as my disc is Donkeys years old.
What's the easiest & quickest method these days.

Thanking You :)

Please don't blame me if SP3 chokes on your activation, legal or not. I had to phone activate my most recent installation (legit key), though that was slipstreamed. There are numerous reports of this floating around.

Do you mean a complete XP SP3 install disc, as in full copy of windows?

Quickest way i wouldn't know if you can actually "legally" download a copy. But i'm pretty sure Microsoft can send you one if you phone up :) If you illegally obtain the right copy though (OEM/Retail) etc... you're key should work and people would be none the wiser. Thats probably more the answer you were after :p

Pretty easy to slipstream it. Copy all files from existing disc to an empty directory, download file linked above and run it with the /integrate option (point it at the files you copied). Download nLite, run it, point it at the same files again and tell it to create an ISO. Done. :)

That's what I did, though I also integrated WMP 11 and IE7 and de-bloated the install a bit along the way, which is a bit more involved.

I'd upload my ISO for you but unfortunately it's an OEM install. I also have access to MSDN but not sure what keys that accepts. :(

Yeah slipstreaming is a doddle with XP especially with nLite :) Few button presses really...

Cheers all, It's what I usually do but wondered if things had moved on at all.

As it's so easy, I'd recommend slipstreaming the SP3 install manually rather than doing that part via nLite. For some reason the nLite way seems to cause problems for some.

Also, if you have an old copy of nLite, get the latest one first.

With nLite though you can go a step further and take out some of the crap you really dont need that comes with the XP install :)

Yes, I know. All I'm saying is don't use nLite for the SP3 bit. After that, it's fine. Not only did I remove loads of crap (messenger service et al.) but I also pre-configured quite a few settings the way I like them. :)

Oooh i see what you're talking about, oh, actually i agree, because when i use nLite i always use my a slipstreamed CD to begin with. Love nLite, saves a lot of time further down the line if you use it right :)

Beware Cheeky Request coming up.

Can anybody upload there Disc for me :) I am trying to prep for the swap but am limited by my uber dodgey mobo. As it stands I am jacked into a secondary IDE & only have my HD & DVD drive hooked up
Basically it means i can't create the disc myself until I rebuild around my new mobo :(
I am in the process of uploading everything up to skydrive to minimise what I have to do when the kit arrives.
If anybody has a stripped down up to date disc prepped it woud be jack & Dandy if they could upload it somewhere for me to download this afternoon.

Obviously a big ask but You have to ask when these silly ideas come into your head :D

(I may be a Little excited :D)

Can't you just plug your writer in for all of 30 mins? It would probably take me (and others) longer to upload :p

I knew that but have another plan now, I need to strip my system so i will plug an old laptop in & sort it on that, This'll keep me online for any info/help I need & I can use the onboard CD.
I am just twiddling my thumbs looking for things to do before it arrives that will speed up the re-fit/Instal to be quite kin honest.
I've been out & done all I had to & now it's just wait till 3pm when he is s'posed to be coming.
