Got my insurance renewal through from Admiral yesterday quoting £250. I've been searching around this morning and can't find anyone cheaper so it's going to be hard to phone them up and call their bluff to drop the price. Is there anything I can do or say? I'm happy with the £250 but every little helps :D

Lie through your teeth and tell them you've had a quote for £220 and ask them to match it.

If they say no then you've not lost anything as you can go with the £250 quote.

Try to use quidco to geta lower price? then tell them to match that price?

Can't get them through Quidco and nobody else has really come close enough to make it worth the bother.

I've just realised that the renewal quote doesn't include an SP50 I've got have protected no claims. I reckon if I can get both of those added at the current price then it's pretty good. I'll give them a shot and pay instantly if they can do that. Might push for a little reduction too :)

I guess bull**** is the way to go. I've got nothing to lose :p

Threaten to fart through their letter box if they don't knock £20 off

Ah right, yeah. Again, I'll just chuck some bull their way and see what I can manage :)
I just hate it if/when they call your bluff...feel a prat :D

Bluffing works, I've never paid the quoted renewal price even when I've not been able to get a cheaper quote elsewhere.

Just been on the phone to them to update a few details....added an SP50 and wanted protected no claims and the renewal price has gone from £250 to £285. Not too bad and still a LOT cheaper than elsewhere. Haven't renewed yet as I'm going to phone later and try and blag a little more off. If I can't get it then I'm still quite happy with that quote as it's still the cheapest I've found.

Desmo: I've been quoted £200 for my renewal. Match that.
Admiral: I'm not sure if I can, let me just put a few details through. *bang*
Admiral: Ooops, I've just knocked my screen on the ... *crash* *women screaming in background*
Admiral: My desk is on fire, please bear with me...
Desmo: HUDDY?!
Admiral: DESMO?!

Ring Adrian Flux. Tell them you want a limited mileage policy. Parked on Driveway etc etc etc then use there quote to knock Admiral.

Have you tried swiftcover? 5% back through quid co and Code: VMD25MY gets you £25 off immediately :)

haha that's just so far fetched - I would have never quoted £200!!

:p

Admiral are the cheapest.

However i don't think you can beat Direct Line for service and More than offer No Claims for life.. which is handy..

Thanks for the input people :)

Went with Admiral in the end as they were by far the cheapest out of everyone else who quoted. Managed to knock the premium down a touch with a bit of BS too :)
