View Full Version : Spybot 1.6.0 and Opera not in love with each other

I use Spybot to help block naughties on my PC. I've just today installed 1.6.0 after running the 1.6.0 RC2 for a few weeks. Today and when I installed the RC build I noticed that immunising the PC using Spybot on the Opera cookies wrecks Opera for me. Sites that need logins such as this one and Hexus, OcUK etc need cookies reset. So I login and accept the cookies. But they are only temporary cookies this time and are set to disappear when I finish with the site i.e. close Opera. The cookies weren't temporary before. Permanently set so I could browse to BD and be logged in. Now it won't work. Hexus is the worst, I'll login. Then leave the site. Then re-load Opera later and visit Hexus again. Need to login. Every sodding time I visit Hexus. So I delete the cookies so now Opera has to make a new cookie and not modify an old one. This kind of fixes the issue.

But when I check Spybot for updates it says there are 59 cookies in Opera that my PC isn't immunised against and I know that if I immunise I'll get the cookies issue again.

Any idea what on earth is going on and why Spybot and Opera don't get on and what I can do to fix this? Apart from leaving the Opera cookies unimmunised in Spybot of course.
