Just a quick post to announce that Lana (Kari) graciously agreed to marry me. We're going to need to spend a bit of time figuring out the nitty gritty of things but our initial intention is to get married here in Hawai'i, probably with some kind of celebration in the UK to follow at some point.

Thanks to everyone :) It's all ever so slightly scary. Could do without the complications of differing countries and stuff to suss out too, but *shrug* it's not like I have a history of going for the 'easy' options ;D

Thats my plan anyway, however you'll be pretty much on your own / organising stuff for yourselves such as accommodation & transport. We do want to have a wedding blessing done in the UK, after our wedding in Hawaii, as we both have a number of UK based family and friends that we want to celebrate this with but whom can either not afford the flights out here, or are not able to make such a long journey.
As I say, the particulars aren't worked out but the vague thought is to book a hall that has a staffed bar, organise a buffet and some music, and celebrate :)

Certainly to start with, plans are Hawaii, but that very much depends on visa stuff, which to be frank is an utter nightmare, I've been strongly advised by another brit I know who has done a similar move to get an atourney that specialises in immigration to help do all the forms and lay out my options. May end up going to uni out there and getiting a degree which i should be able to complete at a fast pace given my skill / experience base. It's such a beautiful place, almost beyond belief. Heaven on earth for sure.
