View Full Version : If ever 'MEH!' was needed, its now!
As of today my children don't all go to primary school
*hysterical wailing*
There's nothing like a secondary school blazer to add to the grey hairs :( God almighty I'm barely old enough to watch an 18 film, how can this be?!
Luckily the pain is being eeeeeased bu some pink wine. I think cheese and possibly Mystic Pebs may be looming. It's all downhill from here people, DOWNHILL!!!!!!!!!! *puts on skis*

I feel your pain, I'm not old enough yet to get into 18 cert films as well :)
I've only got one left in primary. I've ordered him to stop growing but he's ignoring me.

Don't know what you're moaning about I am a Grandad for **** sake. You wait till one of your daughters tells you she is Pregnant in Love & having a baby
Alfies is 2 now & will be at school before I know it. If you are old I am Ancient :'(
None of my kids will
a) have sex
b) have sex or
c) have sex.
Therefore ergo forthwith, I shall always be young.
My eldest called me to tell me he wanted to talk to me and his dad and that he had news that he only wanted to say once.
I got ready to bash him senseless when he announced I was going to be a granny. He announced that he and his girlfriend had split up.
Bloody dramatic kids. Grrr.

Enough bantering, vindaloo time.
Aw, I'm sure you'll get used to it :)
I've had two "oh my god I'm old!" moments recently. Strangely both caused by the same family.
My mum used to work for a vet, and we knew the vet and his family well. They have a son and a daughter. When I was about 10, the son was about 4, and the daughter newborn.
Didn't see them for years (well, decades...), until a couple of months ago, I saw the daughter driving a car, and then a couple of weeks ago the son buying drinks in my GF's restaurant...
Hey, I'm still wearing short trousers.

You'll like it at my house. I educate my eldest by buying him Bill & Ted, Beavis and Butthead DVDs and showing him Ferris Beuler's Day Off.

At least you've got them Pebs. I'm probably going to be about 50 by the time I catch up with you :(
Do you have it?
Think so - would have to ask Mic - he has seen it, hell the quote in his sig is from it I believe :o
My Daughter wil start reception on the 3rd of September, and my son will be 1 a week tomorrow.
I'm feeling old. My nephew who was born when I was 14 will be in year 9 in September, my nephew who was born when I was 17 will be 10 in December, my neice will start reception in September, and my youngest Nephew will start Nursery in September. My Cousin's kids who when I last saw them I read them bedtime stories are now 17 and 19. And my 3 Neices who I've not seen for about 15 years, the twins are 16, and the 2 older ones are probably 19 and 20.
I'm the youngest of my generation of my family, and I feel sooooo old!
Bah you're all MILFs and you know it!
*chants*
MILFS MILFS MILFS MILFS MILFS MILFS MILFS
;D
I must admit I never feel old.
Crabby and grumpy, yes, but not old!
The only time I feel genuinely old is working on Friday or Saturday nights, watching all the kids at Sugar Hut. THEN I feel VERY old!
Strangely enough, the only time I feel old is when I'm out with you lot! But I'm told that I don't act my age so it doesn't bother me too much :D
Who is this old and why won't people feel him?
Meanies :p

She will change in the first year like you'll never imagine but Baddow is a decent school IMO. There are a lot worsr.
Pete has changed so much in year 7.. He's shot up a foot, lost loads of weight, he's much more mature (although he has his moments) and has become a decent young man.
In the first year, ask them each day "what did you do playtime"? See how long before they say "it's not Playtime.. It's lunch break" haha

23-07-2008, 16:41
I have to agree with you there Huddy! My brother has just finished his first year in secondary school, and OMG how he has changed! He is nearly as tall as me  which is quite scary! Lol
Can still pin him to the ground though when he trys it on! Woop! :D
We had a school reunion at the weekend and the most common phrase was... "David Perryman!!! What's happened to you?!"
He is my big little brother... not so gangly and more filled out.

I would never go on a school reunion.. blahh..
Baddow eh? Small world, again.
That'd have been where I'd have ended up had I not been packed off to various 'special' schools (back in the day when that was the done thing). Used to live yards away from (and attend) what appears to now be called Larkrise Primary School. I don't recall that place well now (well, it was nearly 30 years ago - talk about getting old :(), but it still looks vaguely 'right'.
Anyway, I digress. I'm sure she'll do fine. :)
lol, i'm the same height now as I was when I started high school :p
Went from second tallest to shortest in 2 years flat ;D
Me too!
My eldest is now 15 and over 6ft with size 10 feet. He leans his elbow on my head when we're walking down the street.
Sophi, aged 10 is now about half a head shorter than me and has the same sized feet, 6. She keeps nicking my shoes!!!! And I've given her a few of my clothes. DIABOLICAL!
Sophi,
You on the wine already?! :D
