View Full Version : Dairy Milk or Galaxy?
I bought a bar of Dairy Milk this lunchtime to pass round the office, (yes, really) and someone said they prefer Galaxy.
Is she right? Or do I need to beat her senseless with a bar of Dairy Milk next time I pass by her desk?

Dairy Milk ALL the way! Galaxy is nice but Dairy Milk is the best of them all :D
Seeee the poll tells you the truth ;)
Bars or chocolate in general? I buy Dairy Milk bars and Galaxy Minstrels. :p
Bars or chocolate in general?
Yep, base your answer on that :D
Is she right?
She couldn't be less right!

Dairy Milk all the way!! though I wouldn't say no to galaxy if it was offered.
Galaxy is an acceptable substitute but if there's a choice then it'll be the dairy milk every time.
This thread makes me realise just how hungry I am!
What is this Galaxy of which you speak?
Galaxy can be quite sickening can't it? Soooo Dairy Milk.... I can eat more of it before having to break for five minutes ;D
But overall, in the grand scheme of things... Lindt :p

I think I may have a little bit of an obsession! Ah well better that some other people's obsession's I know! :p

Dark chocolate > milk chocolate.
neither - but if I had to choose Dairy Milk. It's too sickly and sweet for me, I'm more of a real chocolate fan myself.
edit: Starscream - agreed!
But overall, in the grand scheme of things... Lindt :p
Oh god noooooooooooo! I got hooked on those at Easter :o
I prefer Dairy Milk but would pick a Galaxy Ripple over a standard bar of DM. Might be psychological, or because of the different texture, but I would.
Actually, Bournville all the way (or other cocoa-rich dark chocolate). :)
^^ booo hiisssss.
Dark chocolate is my porn! lol! 85% Lindt just makes me walk with a limp...

In which case how does a flake work? Would you still pick a ripple over a flake?

True, crumbly chocolate covered in a harder coating of chocolate is a good plan though flakes are still nommy. Plus you get to do the tipping the wrapper thing into your mouth when you've finished :D
DM without a doubt although I like ripple and minstrels.
I want chocolate now. mmmmmm twirls.
Dark chocolate is my porn! lol! 85% Lindt just makes me walk with a limp...
Dark chocolate and red wine. Nom nom nom!
Dark choc is just awful. It doesnt taste right, and it leaves a bitter aftertaste :(
I am with Kitten, I would rather go without!
I'm not keen on dark chocolate either unless I'm cooking with it. You really do need high cocoa solid chocolate to cook with. I did make chocolate mousse with milk chocolate once and it was awful.
Mind you, the last chocolate mousse I made was so rich that I could only eat a few spoonfuls of it.
In which case how does a flake work? Would you still pick a ripple over a flake?
Yes, though I don't know why.
Some dark chocolate with a glass of bourbon is awesome.
See I think Galaxy tastes better, but I can only have it in small doses. An easter egg and something at Christmas and that's fine. Dairy Milk is a better every day bar.
I don't like choc.
Prefer Galaxy out of the two :)

A limp what?
I've got some pure cocoa at home. 100% chocolate. :D
Dark Chocolate IS how chocolate is supposed to taste like! Chocolate is bitter naturally - it's onyl sweet when laced with lots of sugar by the likes of Nestle or Cadburys! :p
Heathens the lot of you :p
/me runs off with Roberta scoffing all the real chocolate and draining the vineyards of silky smooth wines...
A limp what?

Just a regular limp... walking with 3 legs is hard man.
Dairy milk - lovely and can eat loads
Galaxy - lovely but can't eat much in any one go
Green and Blacks - only discovered recently - small slice of heaven in chocolate form but again couldn't eat much in one go so not very good for good old fashioned comfort eating
I can quite easily work my way through an uber large Galaxy.
Given the choice of Galaxy, Dairy Milk or nothing, I'd have nothing. I prefer dark chocolate or at least a 'milk' with a much higher cocoa solids content. As much as I love Hotel Chocolat I have to say I like this local stuff the best (http://www.mayachocolates.co.uk/PreOrder2.aspx).

I hardly eat any chocolate at all, but i'd rather eat a bar of galaxy over dairy milk. Some nice dark chocolate over all of them though :p
Lindt is the best and Dark Choc mings.

Can you add a third option? Neither, mines a pint.

3rd option for me as well
Green and Blacks for me
Dairy milk is ok for making cakes with and Galaxy just mings :(

Of the two I'm much more likely to eat Galaxy, I just prefer the taste but overall I'd prefer dark chocolate normally or Milka if I can get it - I know there are better chocolate bars but the Milka with yoghurt filling is tasty.
I can quite easily work my way through an uber large Galaxy.
What he said :D
For me: Hotel Chocolat > Lindt > Thorntons > Milka > Kinder > Galaxy > Dairy Milk
However I love Cadbury's Caramel and other Dairy Milk derivatives but not the Galaxy derivatives.
Don't mind dark chocolate but I prefer milk. I'm not really that fussed when it comes to chocolate though, I'll eat anything :p
Lindt is the best
Well yeah...if we're chucking in our fave's, it's Lindt all the way. I'd almost prefer to eat Lindt than masturbate....but not quite.

Over the road? ;)
I voted for Dairy Milk over Galaxy as those were the only choices, not expecting this to turn into a major chocolate discussion, however because it has I feel that I should inject the fact that I prefer a good dark chocolate to either of the previously mentioned varieties.
Now then, a further interrogative question. Should the chocolate one consumes be kept refrigerated or scoffed at room temperature?
Cooooold!

A man who knows his priorities. Respect :D
Dairy Milk > Galaxy
however
Green and Blacks White > Green and Blacks 70% > *
tbh. Unless you go to a chocolate shop, rather than a petrol station or something whereby Hotel Chocolat alcohol flavoured chocolate is ultimate win.

Yeah, pretty much :D Nommed the Green & Blacks now though ;D
Hotel Chocolat slabs are awesome :D
It's that word slab again! I have mental images of a hunk of chocolate the size of a paving slab ;)

Liking the look of a slab there ;D

Depends on the chocolate. Slabs of solid chocolate can get tooth-shatteringly hard if left in the fridge, but filled chocolates are OK. Room temperature, especially in this sort of weather, leads to more ending up on your fingers which seems like a waste of perfectly good chocolate to me.

70% straight out of the fridge! :D 85% if I'm really indulging ;D
Galaxy is the best. Ever.
Dairy milk is yucky.
Galaxy is teh SEX!
But I like Milka bestest....is that the purple one with the white cow? NOM!!
And chocolate should never be so cold it's stiff, room temperature ftw, so its gooey and melty and soft. Nom.
QFT :D
Except Mars Bars, they're better cold.
And the Hotel Chocolat End of Season thingys are great for the price :) My Mum surprised me with one and there was loads of chocolate for the price :D

Galaxys are rubbish - The gearboxes go too easy so i vote DM :p
Taxi for Huddy!
Although I prefer Galaxy I could quite easily not have chocolate ever again. The only choc I seriously like is Hotel Chocolat stuff and seeing as I only see a shop about once a year it's not a terrible addiction. Same with icecream, if I never eat icecream again I wont even notice.

Dark chocolate every time. And then if it has mint or cherry or orange or raspberry bits in it, even better :-)

Lindt Lindor is one of the few chocolates I can't stand. :(
I love nutty chocolate and I love orange chocolate :)

Why is there even a poll? Galaxy all the way for me.
galaxy is the far superior bar. though comments on sickliness are appreciated and taken on board i don't think i could eat more than a normal bar at a time.
dairy milk just tastes a bit too refined and doens't have the same awesome texture that the galaxy has.
I've never seen that Hotel Chocolat site before. I think my mouth just had an orgasm. A mellow fusion of creamy white and laid-back caramel chocolate studded with satisfyingly crunch hunks of chocolate and caramel cookies.

I'll let you know what its like :D I cracked and ordered some, but also ordered a gift pack for my folks as a surprise. I can't believe they had a box of chocs for £80!
I can experience it through your tastebuds :D............sort of ;D
Lindt Lindor Troufles are fantastic.
But white chocolate rules over all. Especially from See's Candy.
Right thats it enough talk about dark frigging chocolate, i'm going the shop for some, pah! I'm blaming you ALL...
I have to agree I much prefer dark chocolate to any usual chocolate. It must be the caffeine or other stimulant. As it just hits the never so much better.
No :p 99% stuff I had before was far too bitter to enjoy properly :D 70%-85% is where it's at!

Just a quick shot. I didn't expect it to be HUGE! I ordered a gift pack for my parents which turned out to be smaller than I expected even though it was more expensive. But its huge! You can see my iPod Touch there and my laptop is 15.4''. So much for my diet. I was just checking the scales last night and saw I lost half a stone. Well there it is. Hotel Chocolat sent it back to me.
Those things rock :D
*hungry*
I think the problem with it is that there are no squares you can snap off and eat. Its going to be a case of knawing on it like my hamster would on his chocolate.
http://www.vanilladays.com/bleach/Ichitoast.gif
With the smaller ones you can break bits off, not sure how easy it is with the bigger ones. I'm not that lucky :p
Just don't put it in the fridge and then try to bite it!!! I had jaw ache for a couple of hours after I did that :o
lol :D I'm seeing Batman tonight, not like on a date or anything, so I guess I could slowly chew through it then.
I would personally use it as a shield to hide from the scary bits in the film.

Its so big I could use it as a sheild against nuclear war.
It'd be a crime to use it in that way though - or at least it ought to be. Don't make me write to my MP. :p

Dairy milk > Galaxy > Anything else > Dark chocolate. Can't stand the taste, far too strong.
Chocolate update. Its so good. Its not rich or anything. All the flavours seem to work nicely together and you get different hits with each bit. I'm just snapping large chunks off and knawing on them. Its really really nice.

Bourneville are in a red wrapper, made by Cadburys, perhaps they are the ones? :) Yeah they are pretty good, one of the easiest dark chocolate bars to find usually as well.

Not this one, its so thick! But if it did that would be some way to go. I'd be fused with the chocolate bar. I might become a superhero. Does chocolate normally have the ability to fly?
