I don't know what you guys think, but Feeks Weekend Beer threads have gone downhill :p ;D
I find it drinkable enough when out. Better than Fosters/Carling etc.
I bought a case today to slurp, crush and throw over my shoulder from the pool but it might not last that long!
It's refreshing if nothing else :)
Imposter. What have you done with the real Feek? :)
Either that, or it's all LeperousDust's fault. We'll know not to give you free reign over the beer order next time. :p
If you want refreshing and you want lager, i'd say...
Miller
Coors
Sol
Corona
...are much better than Stella as refreshing drinks. Stella is much more of a 'waaaay lets get pissed' drink.
Slurping beer has to be in cans so one can slurp it in the pool and then when empty the cans get crushed and chucked over the shoulder.
Stella is no stronger than a good ale and serves the purpose nicely
Get Miller in cans then, sooorted :p
I am currently enjoying an ice cold refreshing kopparberg in my MEEEELION degree room. Its so hot in here :(
I closed the door to my server cupboard and watched the temps hit 37c in there. It must be 30c in my room generally, its awful :(
Get Miller in cans then, sooorted :p
shops are closed and I can't exactly drive atm ;)
DRZ, 7i know how you feel regarding hotness. Posting from my iPod, yay!
I'm just drinking water, no alcomahol here, though it isn't too hot in my room atm, even the inside of my PC is only 34C :D
I r can had cheese on toast?

I brought some salt ling down from Shetland and had that last Friday night for supper. Absolutely delicious but gives one a raging thirst. Kelleeeeeeeeee had some Carlsberg so I pinched 4 cans of that and bunged it in the fridge. Ghastly stuff but it was cold, wet and fizzy and did the trick nicely.

I fell asleep on my sofa, and woke up in my bed with my phone and PS3 controller next to me....
I don't feel sore so nobody broke in and bumloved me, but I'm still hella confused.
I did haz beer last night.
Ghastly stuff but it was cold, wet and fizzy and did the trick nicely.
And that's all that counts sometimes!
I'm now going to rehydrate myself and get some scran down my throat. I have to nail a basketball board/hoop to the wall and then get the pool up today.
I luuurve Kopparberg especially when it's a sunny day. Phil tells me they do alcohol free stuff so he is now on this mission for me :D

Miller is one of the few lagers that actually tastes better from cans than it does from bottles - I think because the metal actually gives it some sort of taste.
I was also drinking Stella last night, not entirely through choice but it was a club and therefore not many other options on the beer front.
No bottle Miller > can Miller :p

No, water > bottle Miller > can Miller :p
Corrected for you ;)

Rehydrated, hoop and board up, pool in process. I'm taking a break while they give it a bit of a clean then it's nose back to the grindstone to get it erected. Fnarr.
I hate Stella :(
I do heart Corona muchly... can't wait for my holiday, I will be able to have Keo beer! Though I'll be totalled after the 1st one as I haven't drunk much in ages! lol!
I hope you beat the **** out of your wife after all that Stella. It's not called wife beater for nothing.
I still don't get the wife beater name, there were beers called wife beater before Stella (specifically Abbot) and Stella isn't particularly strong.
Pabst Blue Ribbon, beer of choice for old time American wife beaters.
Not much of a lager drinker, but after finishing the patio yesterday a Fosters Twist and a bottle of Miller went down just nicely whilst doing the BBQ :D

It's a generation thing Feek...everyone will have their own wife beater I guess :)
stella (the uk stuff anyway) tastes a bit "chemically" for me, and does seem to provoke violent reactions more than other stuff from my intensive research :o
Very rare I drink it nowadays.

The Stella wife beater violence thing is all a myth. All in your head really, yes it is stronger than other beers, and yes it'll get you drunk faster hence you will be more drunk than your friends, and if you're a violent drunk well then that's where it comes from apart from that, there nothing in it that makes people beat wives or other people as such :p. Its like the whole absinthe thing that tickles me too, absinthe is just another 40% drink like vodka, you're no more likely to see pixes or whatever than any other drink!
The absinthe sold in shops is a different kettle of fish to the absinthe that'll bring the pixies ;-)
what you want on a hot day is some chilled golden champion by badger. As it says summer n a bottle
http://www.hall-woodhouse.co.uk/beers/badgerales/goldenchampion.asp
Available at all supermarkets.

40%? what absinth are you drinking. Absinthe should be at least 85%volume and if you want to spend a couple of hundred pounds on a bottle will be stronger.
Also in some foreign countrys it will have mild hallucinogens in it.

The lowest ABV Absinthe I found on thedrinkshop.com was 45% with the majority being 60-68% and one at 85%. I don't know about anybody else but I find that any spirit over about 55% ABV is virtually undrinkable unless heavily diluted and if you're going to dilute it, why bother with silly ABV percentages in the first place? Anybody who drinks spirits of 85% ABV and the like is doing it for willy waving purposes IMO.
The hallucigenic version of Absinthe is banned in most countries nowadays but, as AcidHell2 says, it can still apparently be found in some countries if you know where to look.
IIRC, Thujone, the supposed hallucinogen in absinthe isn't hallucinogenic....

My trip to Prague on a stag do will confirm that :D

not in the quantities that it's even possible to put into Absinthe legally in the EU anymore, including prague Desmo I'm afraid.
And the illegal underground shady stuff, is most likely made in bath tubs and vile - they'll stick the ABV up, and by the time you've drunk enough to see the faries you'll be dead from alcohol poisoning :p
And the method of getting it into the absinthe, via wormwood, makes it physically impossible to get enough into the drink.

Absinthe - not psychoactive.
It just got me mighty drunk because it was 70%. And it tastes disgusting.
And it tastes disgusting.
It tastes great. But then I like anything aniseed flavoured.
