To make sure they have a summer blockbuster, but "We would have been perfectly able to have it out in November."

Bastards.

With that kind of delay it's inevitable that it'll get leaked and backfire horribly on them.

A naked Harry Potter has scared off the movie "Harry Potter."

Warner Bros. has announced moving its sixth Potter film, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," from Nov. 21, 2008, to July 17, 2009. The reason? Officially, there is no reason, except that "a spot opened on the summer schedule."

That's not much of a reason. The real story? Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will be right in the middle of his sensational, highly publicized run on Broadway in the play, "Equus." Radcliffe appears naked in the play, on stage, and has sex in it as well. That's not the image Warner Bros. wants associated with bespectacled Harry, who remains chaste and virginal.

Indeed, posters for Equus are up all over New York, of Radcliffe's naked torso superimposed on a horse's head. This is not the sort of thing that's taught at Hogwarts. For the movie to open on Nov. 21, Radcliffe would have to do publicity entailing answering questions about blinding horses and having sex with them vs. flying around and making potions.

Fox News (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,404681,00.html)US phobia of naked people strikes again ... possibly

Saw Miss Granger being interviewed on Jonathon Ross the other night... and surprisingly, she came across as a lovely girl! Incredibly nervous but bright, intelligent and polite. I *thought* she could be slightly obnoxious (possibly due to her role in HP) but she seemed like a charming lil lady :) A little future star me thinks :)

Sweeping statement but I think the UK does a much better job than the US in bringing up child stars, ours tend to be less precocious and pretentious. It may be something to do with the educational requirements (all yps of compulsary school age have to have regular tutition) or it maybe the British public are less fauning than in the US.

She's very smart, she'd been offered places in Yale and Harvard in the US, but took a position at New York.

Yeh right! She was saying in America they allow you to study a wider curriculum base at Uni! You don't need to focus on just one subject as such! I know you can do similar here but it seems much more flexible!

Had I known that when I was applying for Uni's I would have tried to somehow find my way over there!!

I went to go see this last night. It's a decent movie in its own right, much like the book not a whole lot happens in it, but for some reason they felt they had to change many things from the book, leaving stuff out I would have said was fairly integral to the Harry Potter universe, for example:

You don't see Kingsley Shacklebolt at all.
Rufus Scrimgeour isn't even mentioned despite playing a major role in Harry's psyche in the book.
The relationship with Tonks and Lupin has no rough sections, this is ignored completely, even down to it being Luna to find Harry on the train as opposed to Tonks.
You only see Fenrir Greyback three times and two of those scenes are completely made up for the movie (and one of which is completely pointless).
Nothing is made from the constant disappearances of Malfoy into the Room of Requirement, Harry merely mentioned him twice (this is probably the main part of the story in the book).
The spying of Borgin and Burkes is completely different to the book, they already know Malfoy is interested in a vanishing cabinet, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of the story.

There are many other issues I had with the story and how they simply ignored a lot of what was important from the book all of which could have been rectified by simply adding 10 minutes to the film and replacing some of the rubbish there.

There is also quite a potential screw-up leading into the next one.

I'm probably in an unusual position compared to most. I've not read the books and have no interest in doing so however vix takes me along to see all of the films and generally I've got no idea of the plot before I get there. Seeing it from that point of view I don't notice that there is stuff missing so it can't be that bad although this one does seem to be somewhat lacking in story whereas the amount of time given over to lovestruck teenagers is completely over the top.

I just edited out your spoilers in the quote as I wasn't sure how the quote and spoiler tags would interact so removed them to ensure noone else saw them.

I went to see this last night in the IMAX theatre. First 20-25 mins was in 3D and it looked stunning! The fact the whole thing wasn't in 3D saddened me after being teased with it! I really enjoyed the film. I agree with some of the points Karl made but i won't go in to them for spoilers sake! :p

Got the game delivered this morning, bit of a coincidence. Sadly i won't get to play it much as i'm going down to London tomorrow. PFT! :D

Just got back from watching it this morning. It's certainly different than the previous HP films that's for sure and you get the feel that it is setting up for the grand finale in The Deathly Hallows. I can't help but feel a little disappointed with the film. Some of the jokes were done to death, "look they are kissing arf arf..........." However where it lacked in some of the action of previous films, it made up for it in some of the relationship sub plots.

A good film in it's own right but it just left me feeling just a little meh !!!

I've not read the books either, and I enjoyed it very much, even if there was a lot of rom-com to it. Was expecting it to be a lot darker but the teen love stuff gave it a bitter sweet taste in the end and I liked it :)

It wouldn't have if they'd done the book . Was talking about this with a friend and fellow fan of the books. It was just so wrong. The only action scene in the movie wasn't actually in the book.

Mrs DL loved it and I tolerated it though to be honest the 2 hours didn't drag so I must have been engaged. The guy sitting next to me had clearly been dragged along with his wife and spent half the film asleep only waking up when she jabbed him. She clearly loved it and spent the half the film she wasn't jabbing her husband leaning forward in her chair.

mmm, maybe I wasn't quite so engaged.
