Hey guys looking at doing CPCS scheme on 360s above and below 10tons.

I would need to take A10 and A12

Found a price list from 2005 which is £1600 each for a 10 day course for beginners.

I also know you need a health and safety test can't seem to find a price

Slightly confused what a N/SVQ in Specialised Plant Machinery and Operation is?

Any one done any of this and can advise me and if there is any grants available also would anyone know how easy it is to get part time work on 360s as I would need 2 years experience before being able to take my rail conversion test and try and sign up with a company like hydrex.

One career route I'm looking at.

Basically license to drive one of these things

But you have to do two years on normal construction, before any company trains you on the rail conversion. Although as I have rail experience maybe I could get exceptions.

Any idea how one usually achieves these things. I'm assuming it's more than just a few days.

My NVQ took three years, but I think they vary.

NVQ 1/2 can be knocked out in 6 months
NVQ 3 takes about a year
NVQ 4 Usually 18 months

They vary because they require observation of work and production of a portfolio of evidence
