I have come up with an agreement with the girl. For our first house we're planning to get somewhere with enough room on the side for an extension at a later date. I am allowed to build a double height extension, bottom room is allowed to be a garage if the top room is a music room for her with piano and various other musicamable instruments. But there's one other caveat I've demanded. If she's allowed a music room then I am allowed a science room which will be packed with microscopes, pickled heads in jars, a Jacob's ladder, flickering Bunsen burner and permanently bubbling test tubes. And the odd bottle of black liquid with skull and crossbones stickers on them.
What would you have as your 'other' room?

I have my library (although it is more of a dumping ground atm). I want to get it sorted so that there is space for all my books, I can find stuff and maybe there be a sofa/big comfy chair.
I am actually planning on going though and getting rid of some books soon :shocked: Ones I will never read/have read but know I won't read again.
If there was "another" spare room I would want a rat room with at least one built in "run" as well as storage for everything.
Games room with a pool table, Bomb Jack cabinet, pinball table and dart board.
Thats a good idea Sam, I can see it now. Your room filled with old books, a big wooden globe in the corner, and you sitting in a big red leather armchair :D
Our 3rd bedroom is a guest room, and some people here will tell you how comfy that bed is ;) The bigger 2nd bedroom doubles as our office and my photography studio, if you can even call it that anymore. Its been overrun with washing and ironing piles :D
I dont know, but it would be pink! :D
and have shoes in.

Dance Studio - with mirrors, pole dancing poles, a transporter to beam in Dawn for classes ;) , cd player, decks and EVERYTHINK!!! :D

I have one as an office, another as a 'craft room' for the boys and 2 as guest bedrooms
this summer I am also converting the stables into a useable room, with lots of natural light
Bookshelves, and one of those ladders that slides along them.
A massive ball pit :D

Although I do actually have one. It's too small to swing around properly due to my office also being in there. Bah. Who needs an office when you can have a pole room.

you could park it it the field and use the stable thats in there ;)
the one in the garden will be in use, and not by a horse. it will be a summer house
I plan on a very big deck, with a BBQ up there.. and a big jacuzzi spa as well! (perhaps not the spa this year though)

My office is one of those too. Floor to ceiling bookshelves in 2 alcoves next to the fireplace.
It's a 4 way room. Office/library/study/pole room.

We do have 3 full 1m wide floor to ceiling bookcases - which are full. Add to that the 9 floor to ceiling CD racks that are overflowing....
We need a bigger place. :(

Half our stuff is in the attic in boxes. It's a 4 bedroom house FFS. It's still managed to get full of junk!
I am seriously considering an attic conversion. It's HYOWGE up there!

If I had an extra room in my house, then that would mean I had enough bedrooms for one for each of us.
But if I had an extra bedroom, I think I'd have to have the floor covered in a big trampolene, padded velcro walls and 4 velcro suits so that the whole family could bounce around the room, and it'd be like playing human scatch!

A nice air-conditioned chillout room.
Sometimes, I'd just quite like to have somewhere to go and just lay back in a chair and have nothing bother me. It would be a faraday cage at the very least. The air-con would be simply because I cannot BEAR to be even warm, I hatehatehatehate it. Even 25c is too hot.
