New series started last night and it was as good as ever. I love watching the change in attitude of the millionaire's and how they start to realise that their money doesn't mean as much to them as they thought it did.

Last night's was good and I'm sure it will be repeated at some time if you missed it. Just make sure you watch it next week :D

First time I've seen the show and I found out about it because the guy on there last night is from down here so it was on the local news. Glad I did - I'll certainly be watching again next week.

PS - don't forget it'll be on 4oD.

I don't know I've seen this a few times, didn't see last nights. But the episodes I've watched the millionaires big themselves up, I'm worth xxxxx then at the end donate what seems to be a pitiful amount, tens of thousands? I know its more than i could give, and these people weren't expecting anything at all, so great, but they seem to make a big deal out of whats essentially pocket change to them? Do they want a medal? And they're probably being paid off my Channel 4 anyway!

Me cynical? Nah... :)

This guy seemed very down to earth to be honest. His car was a Lotus Elise and not one of ten Astons or Ferraris. He had a fairly modest house compared to his wealth and he gave £100K+ which is more than most. He also offered a months work on full pay for some of the youngsters if they passed their GCSE's.

Reminds me of that program where they sent rich people to "poor" people's houses so that could stay and *live* with/as them for a week. It was reality tv essentially seeing how they coped with not having Jeeves wipe their ass.

The funniest was Michael Portillo living with some scouse family. He still got paid £15,000, yet the family were given an amount in the hundreds to live with him for 7 days.

Gutted for the family, I'm not sure there is any amount of money that would persuade me to have that oily toad live with me for a week. I can't help feeling I'm unfairly besmirching amphibians though.

I had a hugely dim view of Portillo until I watched a documentary about him going to help out in some sort of youth centre for tearaway kids. He was really, really good with them and at the end of it, despite the fact he was clearly not enjoying it, I felt he actually made a difference to those kids and they probably changed him a little bit too.

His attitude wasn't one of someone doing something just to get ahead, it was like he actually gave a damn.

Even my parents (the most anti-conservative people ever!) came out of it feeling that their opinions of him had changed.

Maybe I should watch that then, it is possible that he has changed or that my opinion of him could change. I was partly joking though at the apparant inequity of the family getting a few hundred pounds and him getting thousands.

I noticed in the ad for one, she is writing out a company cheque. So not really her money then?

Her company, her money. No?

All I noticed in the clip was that Hideous Gold bedroom :(

Her company's money, her tax breaks. Not like it's coming out of her own pocket!

I know she gets tax breaks for it, but it can't be 100% surely so she must be giving away some of her own money :)

Thanks, I totally forgot about this as I was concentrating on the poor doggies on BBC1. :'(

I thought the last guy was really nice. I think it's great when their experience also changes their outlook on life and maybe helps them to change what they do at home and how they live.

He was certainly the most generous one I've seen, but then he could afford to be :)

I wanted him to help the bearded lady though :(

Looks like another series may have started. I don't recognise what's on C4 now anyway (about to be repeated on C4+1).

Yep, a new series has just started and that will be the first episode you're watching :)

I don't see how they can do another series. Even in Series 2 it seemed people had cottoned on far too quickly, Season 3 was even more obvious.

I would be more interested in seeing the American version.

I think this is one of my new favourite shows, I love the concept and I love seeing the reaction of the people.

One thing though, I would like to know what the people think is going on with this man/woman, as in why they have a camera crew with them, what the pretence is before they find out.

Still really enjoyed this weeks show though.

Probably just a "documentary" about a person moving to a new area and wanting to help out. Not much else they can try and fob it off as I guess.

They are making a documentary on whatever it is they do in the episode, if they work at nursing homes it would be a documentary about people working in nursing homes for example.

This is the 4th year it's been on, the first one is great. You see it all the time on More4.

Thankyou you two, I only caught a few of the last series, but decided to make sure I watch this one, so didnt know how that part of it was set up.
