If you check out aldi's website you'll notice that next month they'll be selling a 40" HD LCD tv for £unknown.

I understand they've sold such things in the past, never breaking the £1k mark. Has anyone ever bought one, or can anyone recomment something up to that size that's great and not too expensive?

Cheers

If its a medion screen then I would say go for it. They are a German brand but are damn good. Another thing to check is if it is full hdtv and not hdtv "ready". If it can display 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p and 1080i then thats the full range.

Most tv's that were sold as hdtv ready were only 720p rather than the full whack (which they didn't tell anyone about).

edit: just found it, that looks ok, wonder what it will sell for though. Doesn't do 1080p which is the ultimate daddy of hd tv but tbh its going to look great anyway with those features

Wow that TV looks decent. Again, I wonder how much that'll be?
