View Full Version : One for Feek!
This vids are a bit old, but this is me shooting a Sig Sauer P220. Ok so it's a semi and not a "proper" handgun but thought I'd share anyway! :D
The first vids were a bit of a "warm up" so to speak hence why they're not pushed out far (prob 15-20m). The last vid is pushed out at a decent distance. I prefer shooting revolvers for accuracy, however I like going for grouping and I have to say I do love semis. :)
I miss shooting - I used to shoot for a team and used to practice all the time - I was always an "instinctive" shooter rather than anything else - hence why I was better at grouping I guess? I did have another vid of me trying to do a "smiley face" but I can't find it :( I'm no Marting Riggs (Leathal Weapon) though :p

edit: Crikey I've just realised how skinny I was!! :o
I much prefer revolver shooting as well, more than six rounds and I get confused! Speaking of which, you weren't counting your shots, I heard clicks on the videos where you were empty ;) I don't know the gun but doesn't the slide lock back on it when it's empty?
You should try Practical Pistol, much more fun that static (or semi static) target shooting - Shame we can't do it with the real thing any more.
Nice vids Will :)
The barrel should slide back normally and lock, but they didn't for some reason in that instance - but yes you're right I should have counted :o
I'd love to get back into my shooting. I never needed a licence before as I did it through the ATC and all the clubs other than the bases we went to let us shoot as long as we had it in our log books.
Yes I've seen vids of practical pistol looks really fun. That's one of the reasons I love going to the states, I can get my fix. I remember going to the nevada desert and spending no less than 4hrs shooting AK47s, MP5s, M16s, M240 SAW etc... just ridiculous. a guy there brought his barret .50cal in, that was a cannon!
I've always been more of a rifle man, but I do like the compact nature of a semi.

Well a semi's much smaller than a rifle and I said that rifles are my "thang" ;)
Hmm... those videos look strangely familiar :D The guy behind the camera is clearly an expert.

I heard he was a **** personally... but it's understandable. ;)
I kinda miss shooting...nothing more satisfying than getting a group of 3 in the same hole.
I got two through the same hole (fnarr) during a match a couple of years ago in Gloucester. The problem was that there was only one hole on the target so instead of getting two 'A's I ended up with an A and a miss. I wasn't happy.
do they not use a backing sheet with pistol? I had a coupla contestings till they checked with the backer.
Not with practical, it's not (excuse the pun) practical.
but it's understandable. ;)
When I got your text last night I knew you'd been looking at the SF vids :D
There's something sexy about a man with a gun...

Then again a guy who looks looks loke that posing in his undies with guns and games controllers probably doesn't get much action.
eta would somebody braver than me care to examine said are in more detail cos unless I'm mistaken there's a damp patch there.

Oh GOD!!!! Guns AND Guitars!?!? *drools* ;D
I miss my shooting too. Never did any comps apart from small ones down at the club. Used to shoot Police Pistol which went like...
Stage One 25 metres
12 rounds 2 mins standing unsupported, time to include reloading.
Stage Two 15 metres
6 exposures of 2 secs 1 shot/exposure
6 exposures of 2 secs 1 shot/exposure
Stage Three 10 metres
3 exposures of 3 secs 2 shots/exposure
Total Shoot 30
Best I ever got was a 298/300 which I was really chuffed with. I ended up shooting better than the guy who taught me ;D
Just as I was applying for my license and buying equipment the handgun ban came in and I gave it up :(
I shot .22 smallbore rifle. Went to national competition at Bisley a couple mof years and won a few golds, silvers and bronzes, then the year I was promoted to C class I left for uni and never went back...
