I cannot recommend House enough. I wasn't expecting too much but housemate had it on DVD so I gave it a go. Now one of my all time favorite series. Hugh Laurie is brilliant.
I don't give a toss about anything beyond South Park. Been waiting for that! :D

Cool :) Heard some great things about it so glad I got hold of a copy of the first season. Could do with some decent TV viewing.
Prison Break - Tonight (though Sky1 is only 19 hours behind) - Only watched about 4 episodes of the new series
Greys Anatomy - 25/9 - not fussed
House - 16/9 - will add to the collection
Californication - 15/9 - didn't like
King of the Hill - 28/9 - don't like
My Name Is Earl - 25/9 - never seen it for some reason :(
NCIS - 23/9 - will add to the collection
The Unit - 28/9 - don't like
Heroes - 22/09(double episode) - yay :D
Knight Rider - 24/09 - yay :D
American Dad - 28/09 - yay :D
South Park - 01/10 - yay :D
Lost - 01/01/2009 - yay :D
24 - 23/11 - yay :D
Family Guy - 28/9 - yay :D
That's me sorted, along with everything else that is occupying my time.
No writers strike so far :) Looking forward to new Prison Break, Lost, BSG, Heroes, ER, 24. Really looking forward to Joss Whedons new show and also JJ Abrahams. I expect Joss Whedons to be cancelled mid season though :) Damn shame that theres no decent scifi in there anymore. BSG ends soon. SGA cancelled. If I want real life I'll open my curtains.

Yeah. Its been "cancelled." They say its not a bad thing and that they're going to do a TV movie after. But cancelled is cancelled. They're making a new show called SG:Universe set on an Ancient warship. I'm hoping they keep McCay.

I wonder when the decision was made? Season 4 was decidely average though Season 5 has got off to a good start.

I take it it was a double episode? (Tis like 2 gig!)
And now I shall stop talking about such henious crimes!
Yeah, double ep. :)
For a pilot it seems quite good (with a sizable budget), i've seen a lot worst pilots, i mean looking back at The OC's Pilot or Dawson's Creek it wasn't that great.
If it tanks its likely to take the network with it.
I've just finished watching 90210 and was pleasantly surprised that I liked it. Will be added to my download list now.

I'm too addicted to it, so wherever it goes, I'll still watch each episode 2-3 times. :/
For Vampire lovers HBOs True Bloods out,, don't know yet if there's any changes from the screener released over summer.

I watched an extended trailer last of the first episode last night of True Blood in HD(Approx 60 mins Worth ;) ). It's Dark, It's Raunchy and a little macarbe as well. Basically what vamp fans have been waiting for for a long time.
If anyone would like it drop me a pm or msn for FTP

What do you make of the Sarah Connor Chronicles out of interest. I Watched it on V1 and I really couldn't get into it. I found it very much of a wash rinse and repeat experience
I really enjoyed TSCC, shame it got curtailed by the writers strike so a few errors weren't corrected and a whole chunk of plot got forgotten about to squeeze out a climatic finish to the season. But the performances are good and the writing is useally good.
They just need to get a better handle on the supposed lead character. The shows about Sarah yet she's is the least interesting part of it. Plus the way they write her she flip flops between dynamic leader and all round bad ass to mopey wallflower who needs a big strong man to save her.
What I really want to know is why do they ever bother shooting Terminators with handguns (BAG used a Desert Eagle in the future, way more powerful than the 9mm Glocks & Berettas used in the present by Our Heroes) They have absolutely no effect. Shotguns don't do a lot either. They'd be better off spilling the bullets on the floor and hoping the Terminator steps on one and falls over ;)

On the plus side, ive still got the entire west wing boxset to get through at some point, having only watched one and a half series.

Watch The West Wing now! It does tail off slightly when Sorkin walks away from it, but it's still good.
re Studio 60, Sorkin allegedly only wrote it to try and win his wife/girlfriend back. Great show though and Bradley Whitford was awesome in it.

I don't mind the flash forwards, they make it more interesting I suppose. I think I just remember season 1 too much, where everything seemed mysterious. I liked it when the cast didn't have a clue what was going on (well, they still don't but you know what I mean), and the viewer felt like that as well.
I doubt we'll ever see brilliant endings of episodes such as this again:

EDIT: Also, the bad CGI polar bear. Fail.I like SF a lot so this arc doesn't bother me. Now the Kate/Jack/Sawyer triangle, now thats tedious beyond belief. And Island!Kate morphing in Jacks presence from a strong dynamic women to this whimpering, self doubting, needy women thats just barf worthy.
I watched True Blood last night and wasn't particularly overawed with it tbh. I think I need to watch a couple more episodes first before I make a judgement on it.

The first episode of Knight Rider was last week. Doesn't seem all that horrendous, they've improved it from what was in the pilot. Really no idea what age range they're aiming it at. Too adult for kids (porn references) and too childlike for mainstream adults. At best I think its possibly aimed a bit at the 'retro' market, trying to keep that kids feel whilst not being too kiddie.

13-10-2008, 20:44
Pushing Daises:
Young boy Ned discovers he has the ability to bring dead things back to life. Only problem is after 1 min something else in close proximity must die to restore the natural balance. Other slight flaw being touching the previously dead, now alive thing once again renders it dead once more on a permanent basis.
20 years on young Ned is now all grown up and makes pies (as you do) but a Private Investigator learns about his unique ability and decides to exploit it....
There is a whole lot more to it than that but telling anymore would just ruin it :p
Only thing that seems to be a bit marmite about it is the narrator but I highly recommend grabbing at least the first season (9 eps!) and giving it a go :)
I loved the first season of pushing daisies.

Does anyone here watch "The Game"?
Season 3 just started, so I thought I'd download one and check it out - it's a black drama based around some US NFL players and their lives.
It's unusual to see something that's more often bordering on serious than comedy that's not cheesy from a black show (is there any way to say that without sounding even remotely racist?) and I've really enjoyed the first 2 episodes of season 3, sadly seasons 1 and 2 aren't on DVD here (no real surprise).
It features one of the Sister Sister twins and one of the Sweet Valley High twins too, so it's like re-visiting my childhood - the girl from Sister Sister (Tia) is a bloody great actress too, very surprising.
I know it won't appeal to most, but I've been pleasantly surprised.
So many reccomendations in here. Can see some downloading having to go on.
So anyone like to explain what Chuck is and what Pushing Daisy's is?
Chuck:
Average guy working in the buy more shop accidentally gets a load of government secrets downloaded into his brain. He then has 2 agents looking after him and using him to solve problems and find the bad guys. The humour is spot on and the characters likeable.

Chucks great, was thankful for that recommendation, Morgan the Organ is a classic character, i finished the first season last night.
Great ending to last nights True Blood as well, its a cracking series.
Will be starting on season two of Private practice tonight (wife is big fan of greys anatomy and the spin off).

Too right ;)
Anyone watching Knight Rider recognise the voice of K.I.T.T. (without looking on imdb.com)? It's funny that the big tough guy got his start as a voice over and has gone back to it again...

I did and I do find it hilarious, more for the fact that his voices seems to fit :D

I didn't like him doing it in the pilot, he played it way too straight, but he's coming across so much better in the series. Still not as good as William Daniels though, not as distinctive or quirky a voice :)
