I'm a klutz. I had a version of Firefox installed on my computer that I was very happy with. Did everything I wanted. Then I got a virus thanks to the missus using IE and I restored the image of my partition only to find it had an older FF which was not compatible with the extensions I had. I could only get FF 3 which is soooo slow, there's delays and a few glitches I'm not happy with. Naturally I never saved the installation file for the version I wanted...

Anywhere I can download the older versions from? I swear it was 2.5 I had but the internet tells me otherwise, damn its eyes.

2.5 doesn't exist. The most recent v2 variant is 2.0.0.16 which you can grab from here (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html).

That was damn quick! Downloading now, I think it could be the one...

I have it saved as a bookmark :)

If you want a previous version you can copy the download URL for 2.0.0.16 and change the version number in that URL. I had to do that to get an earlier 2.x build a few weeks back.

Whcih extensions were you having problems with?

It was Fire FTP but I found a list of their previous versions too. Oooooo 2.0.0.16 is so much faster that 3.

Fire FTP works fine in 3 here? Thats why i wondered, almost all the extensions work with 3 now anyway. Not that i actually use firefox though :p

Current Fire FTP works fine in 3 but the previous 6 or so versions of it don't work in Firefox 2. It's one of those ones things that I rely on day to day because it saves me installing Cute FTP etc. Fire FTP is just a very very slimline FTP uploader and browser and I find it works better than any standalone FTP program in conjunction with a web browser, website and forum use.

I like Opera but because of Adblock, Flashblock, MenuEdit and FireFTP in Firefox I could never make the change.

You can (easily) do all that in opera, apart from fireFTP which i'll grant you is a pretty big thing i if you need it. There are webFTP things i use occasionally but probably not as handy as fireFTP...
