View Full Version : It's raining
And it's ruddy bad. Our patio, even though it is flat, has turned into a mini stream due to the sheer amount of water that is coming down. I may have to forgo smoking or the rest of the night as there is a severe weather warning for the Midlands. Just looked out the front window and the road is now a river
Oh, and the lights have been flickering so I may lose the internet at some point tonight which will curtail my downloading :(
It's heading north and west. We had what you're getting late yesterday and today. South Wales got deluged.
Calmed down a bit here but it's still steady. Not stopped all day!
Not stopped for the last 3 days here, I'm trying to evolve gills
Not stopped all day here :(
I was at work. I got wet. I took the hood off of the giant yellow coat months ago and...yeah I got damned wet.

I'm Best Man for my mates Wedding in 9 hour and I have stolen my old Elise off my best friend to drive him to the service. I was hoping that the rain would hold off so we could have the roof off but now I'm just hoping that the roads aren't so flooded that we get stuck!

You aren't joking. Most trains out of Cardiff were cancelled, major roads flooded and impassable and a whole area up by me flooded out. Fortunately, I live at the top of a hill.
Its been a nightmare.
Not stopped all day here :( you live in Manchester, when does it ever stop raining there?

Still raining here now, don't know if it stopped all night :/
I like bouncing rain :D
Not all the time (you lot know my temperature issues - anything below 25c is too cold) but when it rains so hard straight down (so no wind) that it bounces back up and hits your knees :D
I go play in bouncing rain :D
People give me funny looks :D
I even went out in my PJs once :D
I had to walk back from the bus stop last night. Ze umbrella it did nussing. By the time I got home I was soaked to the skin, mainly thanks to passing cars and the torrents of water at the side of the road. :(

I got drenched yesterday, pushing Marchant in his chair from building to building every 45 minutes (one of which was a 5 minute walk) and then getting the chair up and downstairs at either end wasnt nice. I was half dead by lunchtime from juggling his bag, my bag, and a brolly to try and keep him covered wasnt easy.
Stoopid stoopid rain!
I like watching wet people.
I like watching wet people.hmm, you spelt women wrong.
;)
In Leicestershire we've already had more rain than we normally get in the whole of September, and there's more coming today. Glad I live on a hill, soon to be Island at this rate.

Barely stopped here for 2 days (kinda easing off a bit now). Had to phone the letting agents to report a leaky roof (water dripping through the ceiling). He said I was the fifteenth person to phone today. He's put us on the list for the roofers but it will probably be Monday before they get to us.

wont it keep the fights in the street to a minimum?
wont it keep the fights in the street to a minimum?
It keeps custody quiet. Came in and only had 4 prisoners detainees this morning. Very unusual for a Saturday morning.

Usually, yes. But, first weekend since payday and if last night is anything to go by it's going to be carnage. I'd rather it was dry carnage.

Think of the publicity though if you could get them to take photos :)
We've had a few showers here. I love Norfolk, the weather is so passive.

According to my mum, who believes anything, the weather is going to be the warmest weekend in Sept next weekend. She got this about a fornight ago from a long range weather forecast :/
Crossing the same, but make that all of next week.

But rain has stopped again. Brief squall :)

I hope its dry next Sunday too, or the Sky engineers are likely to cancel my fitting of Sky plus due to them having to climb about on my roof!

I was Best Man at my friend wedding yesterday. Full story to come but it took me 4 hours to drive the 20minute journey from the Church to the Reception. I still beat the Bride and Groom by 90 minutes though!
LOL.

I quite enjoy sitting out in the rain with my laptop (under something of course), it's quite relaxing. Other times though, it's just depressing.
Rain is only bad when I can afford to fly. So, it's great 99% of the year! :'(
Rain makes me a happy man. It means more mud for my Jeep!!

Another serious weather warning today for the midlands and surrounding areas :( I suppose this should help me quit smoking a bit as I have to walk across the site to get the smoking shelter, in the pouring rain :(

Pissing down here, I've just got back in from walking Frank. He don't like the rain but once I have him out he is ok with it especially seeings as I take him over the park & let him off, No other dogs about when the weather is terrible so me & him get the park
I am Loving how clean the air & country feels though after all this rain, One thing I noticed this morning was just how bright & clean the yellow lines are now :)
Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.
:(
Well I reckon it rained quite hard in plymouth last night - the van was parked on a slight angle and it had a 3" deep puddle in the driver's footwell this morning! Nice...
