can't decide really, not top of my wish list (though on it) but this lists at around £47k and with only 350 miles on clock is as new but with huge saving
waiting for them to get back to me with some indication of p/ex value
oh and though it looks nice in pics it would look many times better with a set of CSL wheels on
Blimey, that's a serious price drop!
Do you actually want it, or do you want it because it's cheap?
Personally I can't abide the Z4, even the M version and even less so in Coupe form. The only reason I'd have a Z4 was for the soft top but I found the ride in the Z4M I drove absolutely horrid - it bounced and crashed around and seemed to find huge pot holes in a smooth road.
Definately not at the top of my shopping list.
Do you actually want it, or do you want it because it's cheap?
.
I think that's the question I need to work out
I had a (long) shortlist and while this was on it, it was probably in the 2nd section, if that makes sense
If it was a car that you wanted then I'd say you should ignore my opinion and go for it. If you're considering it just because of the price then I'd suggest you give it some serious thought.

Think of buying it at it's normal price, then that will let you know if you really want it, or whether you want to impulse-buy it because it's cheap.

Do it.
Have to agree with Burble there. Remember that unless you had every intention of buying the car at list price in the first place, then what you're doing is spending £26k, not saving £21k. You are of course spending £21k less than list, but that's not the same thing.
Common mistake and one I make far too often. Not in one transaction but in total over the last 15 years I wouldn't be surprised if the total was similar.
That's the car I currently aspire to. If I had that money right now I'd go for it. Unfortunately only the roadster (second hand) is within my budget.
at normal price I wouldn't be interested, well I would have other things I wanted more, just seen M5s are below £30k now, shame they are ugly :p
I think it looks bloody horrible! I don't know why, but I don't see it as a good looking wagon.

That shot doesn't look good but I'd say the car would make most people have penis envy.
WINK WINK.

Not me. I'm perfectly happy with what's in my trousers and think that the Z4 Couple looks pretty manky.

I like it.
I didn't mean that you had a small penis.
From a completely girly pov I don't think I can Grandad ;)
Even more reason to come visit you op narth tbh! :D
BB x
It's cheap for a reason the primary reason that most people don't want to spend big money on one in the current financial climate so whilst you might be making a big saving on list a good proportion of that saving will likely be wiped out when somewhere down the line you've got to find someone to take it off your hands.

Massive saving....
Not my favourite car or manufacturer though. I do feel that the front is hideously ugly, but the rear end looks good.
If you really want it, go for it.

That is something that's really bothering me too
also whether it really is any better than what I have now
maybe best to leave it till I find something that I really want

The M3? I don't think you can compare an M3 and Z4M as they're different cars.

It pains me to say this... :'(
I'd keep the M3 :jawdrop:
I feel so dirty now... I need a shower.
I'm by no means a BMW person, but I do have a soft spot for the E46 M3.

reckon I am heading that way, original plan was to keep it till paid off ( about 16 months ) and buy a porker

really is a fabulous car :)

I would have to agree with Paul and Mr Flibster, there is no competition between the M3 and the Z4M. I hate the look of the Z4M.
I think you really need to decide whether you want it because you REALLY want it, or because of how cheap it is. Whatever you do, don't get it if it is because it is cheap. :)

The only BMW's I would consider owning is the 3200CS or 2000CS ot possibly the E9 CSL
The rest just don't appeal in the slightest. The dealers certainly don't help when I have to go to one.
What Porka are you thinking about? A mate of mine has recently got his 997 Turbo having sold his 987 Boxster S. The Turbo is an absolute animal - there's no other way of describing it.
er can't run to a turbo, prob a Cayman S, 1-2 years old
just wish they had made a bit more effort to squeeze a little more power from it

I think the fact that it was cheap was getting me interested
I've not driven a Cayman, but the 2007 Boxster S has the 3.4 litre straight six and it's a peach of an engine.
At first I didn't like the looks of the Cayman but having seen a few up close I think it looks great.
So I hear and the chassis is supposed to be even better than a 911 :)
297bhp just seems a tadge short for size of engine

I do like the Cayman. Especially when they paint sections of the interior the same colour as the body. Saw a bright red one recently, with black leather interior, but loads of the console and around the gearstick were the same colour as the bodywork. Looked superb.
Only thing the Cayman needs is a LSD. The amount of power is fine - not sure what a remap does to it though.
Better than the 997? Christ, I like the sound of that.
Yeah, 297bhp is a bit short but if they'd given the Cayman much more power it would be very close to the 911 and Porsche won't want that. I don't know how tunable the 3.4 lump is but a remap and some breathing mods should get you another 20bhp.
The engine in my car is a bit under powered as standard but after a remap, CAI and new exhaust I've gained about 30bhp but the real gain is that the car is much more driveble - the mid range is relentless and that suits me down to the ground.

The Cayman S is quicker ( 4 seconds ) round the 'ring than a Carrera 2 :D

sorry don't come in here often, what do you have at moment ?
Here's a pic of one on CSL wheels :)

I personally love the look of the Z4M it's gorgeous, something that BMW have done right. For a track car it's great, for a day to day car it's a pain as it is very uncomfortable to drive, however it has got a fantastic chassis, but it's just too tough on regular roads IMO.
BMWs though to me aren't really that luxurious or "special" anymore though I do like the E46 M3 as much as it pains me to say it, as do I the E39 M5. Those are just about the only BMWs bar the older ones (the 2002 in particular) that I would ever consider owning.
If you're getting it because you prefer it to drive and it gives you the thrill back, then go for it, if it's just purely for the price then no...

I like'em & go as far as saying it's about the only Beema I'd own, Current one anyway as I have a soft spot for some of the older Beemas. Great looking motor although I would be a bit sketchy about there quality control & after sales support after reading about shoddy paintwork on that lads who has one on Oc. Has to be said though they are one of the best looking motors you can buy.
As for whether to buy it or not I'd say No not yet as although it's cheap I think over the next year there will be a shed load of people who want to off load them because they cannot meet the payments anymore, Same with anything else really, Always the same during hard times, Those with ready cash can virtually steal things.
My advice is hold on to your cash ;)
They offered me £11,350 p/ex for mine so that's my mind made up anyway

anyway, been informed of a M6 today at £37k
500bhp and 200mph of goodness
I REALLY like the looks of the M6... a lot of people find them ugly, I do think that it's something that the Germans have done well with.
Then again I love the look of the new Megane which a lot of people don't. I love the look of a lot of cars that aren't "the norm". Then again I have exquisite taste ;)

I agree I like the look of the M6. Followed one home last year and the shape was really nice. I like the new X6 too :o
I think the M6 looks fantastic as long as it isn't in that putrid purpley red colour.
the M6 is prob just a bit of a dream but we will see, £37k is a bit more than I want to spend really and running costs will probably be horrific
I think anything with a 5L V10 is not going to be cheap to run. That said, I saw some real world figures from an E60 M5 (no idea where though) and it wasn't ridiculous.
in contact with dealer about this
