Or rather, Mexican't.

So a new Mexican take out opened up near me so last night we figured, why the hell not and ordered. Food turned up on time :D only the messed the order up. Really messed it up. We ordered 1 chimichanga, 1 muchos nachos, 2 cajun chicken quescidalas (sp) and some fired hot wings.

They delivered, 1 chimichanga, 1 muchos nachos, 1 plain quescidalas (sp) fried hot wings, 2 garlic and pepper chicken & mushrooms  after 5 minutes on the phone they sent out what we were missing. Shouldn't have bothered tbh, everything was vile. The "Hot" wings were not hot and the quescidalas were limp and soggy :(

Ended up going to the Chinese and getting food from there.

JSB, if you read this, avoid the new mexican take out that's just opened dude, not worth it.

Shame :( I love mexican food. Sadly we don't have any near us. One thing I wish we had was taco bells

I've been spoiled by eating mexican food in the states in proper mexican restaurants, so over here nothing tastes good :(

I'm yet to find a decent Mexican place in the UK.

There's a fantastic Mexican restaurant at the corner of the block where my normal NYC hotel is. I can't wait to go back there.

Never heard of a Mexican take-away!

We have a lovely Mexican restaurant in Norwich, although I can't compare it to the rest of the world. Is good though :)

I don't know about Mexican take-out in the States but there are some pretty good places in Vancouver certainly. One of the things I miss most is the variety of take-outs that were there.

I find just cooking my own every so often keeps me happy.

Does anyone have any decent Argentinian restaurants near them. We got Gacho Grill in Manchester but thats prob the closest we got. I been doing a bit of Argentinian food at home and it's a bit more subtle than Mexican. Fabulous none the less

I don't know of any Argentinian restaurants but there are some fantastic Brazilian restaurants (I forget the proper name for them) in London on the south side of the Vauxhall bridge.

This talk of food is making me hungry!

Tell me about it. A lad from our work is currently celebrating Ramadan(Do you actually celebrate it or observe it  ) So every day he is bringing in a big tin of home made Pakoras, Samosas, Bhaji's and Kebab's from the previous nights supper. Some nice little snacks to keep us going through the morning.

There's a lovely mexican restaurant up in the bailgate area of Lincoln. It's a very small and pleasant place, very relaxed but always busy.

It's called Tequillas and they do the best margauritas I've ever had :)

This thread has inspired me to book a table there in a few weekends time. Yum, deep fried ice cream :)

I went to a Mexican on Upper Street the other day and, while it was guacamoletastic, it wasn't amazing. You never come across a really posh mexican do you? I mean, you can even get a really nice modern curry house but a mexican is always the same.

Mexican takeaway that would be awesome. I've always wondered why there isn't more takeaway places.
So many countrys and dishes and we have:

We have fish and chips, Indian and Chinese. And occasionally a Thai.
How about all the other great foods, there's certainly a gap in the market.

In fact I wish I didn't like such an easy life I'm sure I could make a fortune just setting up a take away pizza place.

We had a gorgeous Brazillian in Chelmsford called Toscana or something. Buffet style sides and they bring around meat on skewers and carve directly onto your plate. It was my fave place and I was gutted when it went :(

That's the sort of restaurant I was thinking of in Vauxhall. The specific word for them (having spoken to a Portugese colleague who goes to Rio a lot) is Rodizio.

I shall have to go looking again when I'm in London town.

All this talk of takeaways reminds me of the schnellys I used to go to in Germany :(

Oh schnitzels from the Botan Grill *eyes glaze over*

I'm half tempted to smuggle some Mexican immigrants over and open a proper Mexican restaurant. Proper tasting Mexican food *drools*

It's pretty much what Uncle did for his Thai restaurant in Malton, except all the staff are in the country legally.

The best Mexican I've had has been cooked right here in my kitchen!! I get the tortillas, refried beans, taco seasoning, beef, chicken, lettuce, cheese, guacamole, tomatoes, sour cream and salsa all at work. 15 minutes of cooking time on the cooker and in the nuker, slap the ingredients together, and make a complete mess of yourself!!

Oh, in case you didn't know, if you don't need to change clothes after eating Mexican, you're not eating the real thing!! :p

I wholeheartedly agree with that. I could live in England the rest of my life if it weren't for the lack of mexican food and taco bell (notice i seperated the two). It is by far my favorite kind of food!

I won't hear anything bad about Taco Bell, on the drive back from New York, they were the only place open at 1.30am in Fredricksburg and I was starved. 2 tacos at 99c each :D

nothing bad to say! Their 7-layer burrito is at the top of my list of favorite foods:-) I just mean that some people would say it isn't "mexican" because it's so americanized. I'm a fan, so whatever!
