As above really. A band or artist that you wish you could see, but can't as they're not playing anymore.

For me it would definitely be Nirvana's Unplugged in New York concert. Great stuff.

Pink Floyd.

Had the rumours of them doing a final gig after Live 8 been true I hate to think how much I would have paid for a ticket.

Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Country Joe and the Fish, The Jimi Hendrix Experince, The Wailers, Cream, Traffic.

Basically, all the really, really oldies.

Queen at Wembley,

Nirvana - Anywhere

Would also like to have seen The Doors live. Although they weren't spectacular live, I still would have liked to have seen them

Nirvana. Nirvana. Nirvana.

Hm, seeing Nirvana would be quite cool.

Oh, and RATM back in their hayday.

I so wish that was your own bodyweight in ducks, I have no idea why you'd want that but it could only be a good thing. Watching Bez and Shaun try to snort a duck, the potential for chaos is immense.

I'd like to have seen Lynyrd Skynyrd perform as the original line-up, sadly the plane crash took care of that plan before I was even born.

Queen and Nirvana too, how unoriginal :(

Also GnR the original lineup, I'd love to see them again (saw them once).

I knew Nick Mason when I was ickle(r). Don't remember them very well but apparently I met the whole band a couple of times :)

Queen and The Who for me :)I've seen the Who perform live a few times - they were awesome.

The most incredible group I ever saw live was the Stones. Until you have seen them, you just can't realise what presence Mick Jagger has; it is almost as if there is a curtain between him and the band - he really is a true superstar - even if I'm not mad about their music.

I saw Santana at the O2 Arena recently, not bad for an 'old un'.

Last night, I saw the BBC Symphony Orchestra doing Vaughan Williams' "Sinfonia Antartica" and Gustav Holst's "The Planets" at the Proms - that wasn't bad either :)

Breaking Benjamin - i know they haven't split up, but because of Ben Burnley's fear of flying they don't tour outside the US. :(

A Perfect Circle. Best gig I have ever seen was APC at London Hammersmith.

February 2003? I was there too. I went to a few gigs on that tour and the Hammersmith one was by far the best.

It was The Pixies but I've seen them twice now.

Yes! I was in my first year at University in Surrey, and a friend bought me a ticket. I had only heard 5 or 6 of their tracks, I had no idea what to expect, but the whole show just blew me away. Sadly we had seating tickets, although nobody sat down past the first 15 seconds of the performance. JMK has been an inspiration for me since, I was a vocalist in a rock group for a while and he was essentially the singer who I most idolised. But at Hammersmith, the whole band were electric - the atmosphere resonated for hours after we left the venue. Giving me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it now!

It's a small world :)

I very much knew about APC having been into Tool for quite some time. It was only by luck that I noticed they were touring so bought tickets for (I think) 4 gigs and astonished by just how good APC were live. I don't think I'll ever forget how emotive Maynard was.

The Cambridge gig was marred a bit by muppets moshing to Orestes. I mean, Orestes?

Queen and Creedence Clearwater Revival

:)

I know he's not a band and still sometimes makes the odd (odd being the operative word) appearance but I would of liked to have seen Michael Jackson perform at his peak.

Queen and The Who for me :)

Good call!

I'd go with Jimmy Hendrix as well and Bob Marley and JRV.

Zeppelin, fingers crossed they do another gig but I don't see it happening. Queen, The Who...

There are also some bands who I donn't really like much but think would put on a good show. I remember seeing Thrice a couple of years ago and I don't really like much of their music but for some reason, live, it was fantastic and I loved it.

I was probably in the audience for that. I went goey when they did Vanishing.

Have you seen Tool? I'd probably rate Tool better than APC.

I have seen Tool, twice infact when I've been in the US. Thanks to work I didn't get to see any of their 'recent' UK dates.

Tool and APC are different beasts but I would say that I enjoy Tool's album stuff more, but APC as a live band.
