I enjoy all those too, i climb and mountain bike a fair bit and was at glentress only 2 days ago. Spend a fortune (for me) on my bike. I count those as hobbies really.

I do enjoy camping and backpacking too, and i suppose in a way "walking" although walking always sounds boring to me :p

Last year i camped at Fort William in late December and climbed Ben Nevis while it was about as cold as it gets (that's essentially what I'd count as walking i guess?). Love it, and I'm doing something again like that this year soon.

The only outdoorsy type stuff I do now is rock climbing in my Jeep...

So you like walking in the open, I do that everyday.

You need to play some rugby or do something exciting.

I love a bit of trekking and camping- sounds boring but " :p " to you :p

Also a fan of fishing, kayaking and bouldering/climbing.

Really looking to get back into Kayaking but lacking the cash for a kayak/gear & roof rack!

I like camping, walking etc... holidays. Love going to Wales :) On hold as a hobby for the moment though.

I love being outside in the country, walking, running fishing (not all at the same time as that would be daft). It's a stark contrast to the city working life.. I don't mind camping but I love my own bed.

I LOVE it! Love love love love love it!

I'm a big star gazing fan so being outside in the middle of no where at night time is amazing to me! I think a good few of you have joined me flat on my back in the middle of no where/a car park/patios etc star gazing! Tis FANTASTIC!

Camping is ace too! I love all the camp stories and zombie invasion talks and and bbq buckets and pouring rain and sunny sunshine!

I think white water rafting has been my biggest highlight ever outdoorsy wise. Did it on the River Merced in America - was a 2 day jobby. Camping at night... literally in the middle of no where... THOUSANDS of stars.. it was the best ever! Though I nearly peed on top of a rattle snake - not so good!

Skiing too. Nothing like the fresh air and powder snow and mountains! Nothing like it at all!

*loves it*

It's one of the best parts of my day taking my puppy dog outside and whilst she moseys around the garden I just stare at the stars :) It's just... it's all so huuuuuuuge and well. It overwhelms me everytime :)

Know exactly where your coming from. Can't wait for the nights to start drawing in so I can get the Telescope in the back garden. From being a young boy to the present day, the sense of wonder has never left me.

I do a fair amount of trekking, only in cold countries though. Was up in Finland a few years ago, it was hitting -30 at times. My cupboard is full of maps, tents (lightweight ones), cooking gear etc. I loves it, and I'm glad other people do!

I go camping usually twice a year but it's for the car weekenders or Lemans. Love camping though. Haven't gone walking since I left school and I keep meaning to head up to the lakes or somewhere. I don't mind camping in the freezing cold and getting soaked but she doesn't so I guess I'll be waiting until next year now.

I have NEVER been camping!

Except once, I was staying in a tent in the garden for a night because someone bet i would be too scared to, and I had to go back in the house because I got food poisining off a hot dog at the cinema :(

Fire, marshmallows, tea done in a old tin can, the works!

This one time... (at band camp)... Picky and I were at a friends and we all decided to camp outside in his mahoooooooooosive tent. (Seriously - was enormous!! The size of a big tree!)

Our good friend had joined us with her new fella, and naturally all of us were intrigued by this chap we saw before us! Being as welcoming as we could there were drinks, fud, games and all sorts.

However. Half way through the drinking saga, she professed to us that when her new fella climaxed, he would often let out a huge fart (she was quite a loud speaking lady!) We all laughed and joked and not long after we had pretty much forgotten and started on flaming sambukas.

Bedtime draws in... we all snuggle into our own little zip-up-able cubby holes all prepared to pass out for the night.... when we hear

*shhSHHshhSHHshhSHHshhSHHshhSHHshhSHH*

Albeit slightly sloshed, Picky and I listened quietly trying not to giggle trying to figure out what general direction the rubbing sleeping bags was coming from to decipher who it was doing rudey rudes.

Picky and I: "It's got to be barry! It's his direction!!! *giggle* *giggle*"

*shhSHHshhSHHshhSHHshhSHHshhSH*

Picky and I: "But barrys by himself?!? *LOUDER GIGGLES*"

*shhSHHshhSHHshhSHHshhSHHshhSHH...SHshshshshshshsh hshshshshshhshs *PBbBBbbBbbTTtttTFFfffffffTTTTt*

Cue everyone in the tent peeing themselves laughing!

Camping... is always fun! No matter where it is and who you are with :D

I used to do a fair bit of mountain biking and am trying to get back into it (soooooo expensive, already spent £60 and I've not even ridden it yet!). My girlfriend has taken me walking/camping a few times since we got together and has gotten me into climbing (even though I haven't done that outside yet!)

I quite like hiking and stuff. Last year for my bro-in-law's stag do we all went out to this hostel (http://www.rentahostel.com/Web/Site/Hostels/IrelandRepof/BenLettery.asp) near Clifden in Ireland and climbed what are technically mountains for a laugh for the week :), Ben Lettery and all his companions.

I love the fact mine is a '2 man tent' but barely has room for me to lay down in it with a rucksack. It's like, 2 man, yeah, but what the hell are you supposed to do with your bags and stuff? Leave 'em outside to get rained on / stolen or whatever?

With mine, once the tent, sleeping bag and cooking gear have been removed, an 85L bag becomes just small enough to 'hug' inside the tent (it's pushed against one side, my shoulder against the other). No way is it going to fit past my waist though. Does make things a little snug. I can leave it outside though, as my gear isn't really used on campsites.

I presume with your 2 man, both had better be pretty good mates!

I was forced to go camping all the time as a child. My parents used to have a stall and do markets and fayres, so most weekends were spent in a tent or caravan. As a result I detest it.

My sister and I went to V fest and made sure we had a hotel for the night. So while everyone else was getting rained on after the Foos, we were in a nice warm room with a tv and the most enormous bath I've ever seen!

Camping, meh.

I've just had a new tent as a birthday prezzie - my old eurohike 2man has braved the world and festivals alike for 9 years (still in tiptop condition) and I sent it off to the relief appeal for the typhoon in malaisia some time ago.

My new tent I hunted high & low for : it had to be right - so I invested in a Vango :) It's a 2 man tent but with an additional 'porch' area out front big enough to store my bike and all other ging-gang-googlie bits & bobs!

I guess it isn't the Spirit 200 then if it has the porch. Maybe a 250+?
