So, Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning is out on the 18th.

Who's getting it? I know I will be. I was in the closed BETA and I was very impressed by it, it should be a nice change from WoW.

I can just imagine that release day is going to be crazy and there's going to be lots of downtime.

Im tempted, but after the abhoration that was age of conan, im a bit concerned that Warhammer will be more of the same.

Yeah I know what you mean.

Before AOC was out, all of the WoW forums were spammed with stuff like AOC is going to kill WoW, blah blah etc etc, it got really over hyped.

To be honest I don't think anything that gets released will kill WoW, it's very polished and it'd take something really good to steal 10 million subscribers.

I think WAR will be a nice change, but it definatly wont be a WoW killer.

I'm not sure from press release etc what will be much different from WoW if you ignore the 'skin differences' i.e. Greenskin instead of Orc etc etc etc.

I guess it's something that has to be played to realise?? :)

Yeah defiantly. IMO Warhammer doesn't feel like it's been a WoW clone unlike some of the other MMO's out there. It has a lot of unique features to it and if you're into MMO's you should defiantly check it out.

Im playing WOW again with my mate, as we have the triple XP incentive, so ill probably leave it until the bugs are ironed out, and our 3 months triple are up.

Just pre ordered this from game, it was the cheapest I could find it.

I'm unsure about the delivery though, I don't know if they'll ship it before the release date, or on the release date.

Game usually ship so that it arrives on the release date. Sometimes if you're lucky, it arrives the day before release.
Pity you hadn't pre-ordered before Sunday, play.com were doing a special offer with their pre-orders so you'd receive early access and 2 in-game items free.

Just been playing this tonight in the headstart. Very polished for an MMO release. More fun than Lord of the Rings beta.

I'm on Axe Bite Server (order) but will probably have a Destruction alt on another server before too long.
So far I'm quite impressed. Never been a Wow player though so don't ask me to compare it :p

In the past, for MMOs, I've previewed WoTLK, reviewed Age of Conan, a Lineage 2 expansion pack and Tabula Rasa, so I think my reward should be this game imo ;D

I beta'd Tabula Rasa. Great idea, lousy implementation.

If they'd just retextured Guild Wars and set it in space it would have been heaps better.
An improvement on Auto Assault though.

The full game was much the same :D MMOs are a pain to review in a short space of time, too much changes every time there's a patch and a year later, the game you reviewed is entirely different. Some games change entirely in the time it takes to review! Few times I've finished writing then realised a new patch comes out the next day and changes loads ;D

I'm enjoying it. It's a nice, fresh change from WoW, although I've come across a few minor bugs, but it's to be expected in a new release tbh.

I just need to get to a higher level now to see what the end game content is like. :D

Well this has just gone terrible, I doubt I'll continue to play this unless they release information about an upcoming patch that'll correct the terrible FPS.

Some users are experiencing low FPS issues, this is because WAR is only using 20% of the GPU.

I really am hoping for a fix soon. -.-

Quick update for anyone playing this. We have a guild called The Godless on Axebite Server (order). We're rank 8 and growing. A few of us know eachother from Guild Wars but there are plenty of new people too. We're not a hardcore guild except when it comes to drinking and swearing on teamspeak, so mature players only ;)

Does this really sell the Warhammer world? How are the graphics?
I've always been interested in the design of the worlds in Warhammer and have often pondered modelling something in the style of it.
