Wasps for me

Supporting a club is a relatively recent development for me but we chose Wasps last year when they were 5 in the Guinness Premiership and we were delighted when they won. Aitch chose for us on the strength of 3 factor

1) Lawrence - sadly departed
2) Nice socks
3) One of the team had a funny afro

My rugby team is Saint Helens. They have 1 more game this season against Leeds in the Super League Grand final. Sadly last year we lost the very same match so fingers crossed next weekend I will be celebrating another excellent season and a great send of for our coach Daniel Anderson.

You from St Helens?

Wiganer here but the team is a shower of poo, players would rather go up town and drink fight and take white powder then train.

Aye cheets :D

Just seen the result of your match, was hoping to meet Wigan next week but we need to make up for last season. We were buggered by that match but hopefully we're a little more fresh this time round.

Only team that could be you at this stage of the season is Leeds so it should be a cracking final

1. Can we stop offending Rugby Union by muddying it's crystal clear waters with League muck.

2. Gloucester for the win Matthew Black, your Wasps boys are going downtown.

Your not kidding, we're playing like a bunch of inexperienced pussys this year although we have a strong reputation for late finishes I honestly think were screwed this year. The lads need to get behind Raffa and start to believe in the Danny, he's back in form and doing well with the ball between the posts but its not enough if the side are pining for Loz, he's gone, get over it!

I hope you are all supporting England in the Rugby League World Cup taking place in Oz at the moment ;) We won our first game against Papua New Guinea 32-22.

The what now? :p

Actually I was looking at the BBC sports site and started listening to it then realised what it was and stopped, but I did think to myself, 'oh I hope they do OK'.

You could show a little more enthusiasm ;D

If anyone is interested our next game is against Australia and I'm not looking forward to it. I think we might get a thumping :o

Autumn internationals are go this weekend. :)

Pumpkinstew's Predictions

Wales poor preparation will count against them against the Boks and even the Minnellium in full voice won't stop them losing by 15 points plus.

Hard to see the Scots doing much better than keeping the score down against the All Blacks, but I think they'll be able to leave the field with their heads up. A gutsy defeat by no more than 12.

The Johnno era starts anew at Twickers against a Pacific Islanders side bristling with individual talent and no little brawn to go with it. Don't believe anyone who says this is a comfortable game for England. It will be a litmus test for a largely inexperienced team. Flutey winning his first England cap and lining up against his old team mate Mapasua will be a key battle.
I'm predicting the scores will be close at half time but an interval roasting and better quality on the bench will see England home by two clear scores.

O RLY?

As long as the Boks don't play their usual dirty tricks and we don't get a French ref, it could be a good game.:D

Henson now out, teams are:

Wales: Lee Byrne (Ospreys); Leigh Halfpenny (Cardiff Blues), Tom Shanklin (Cardiff Blues), Jamie Roberts (Cardiff Blues), Shane Williams (Ospreys); Stephen Jones (Scarlets), Gareth Cooper (Gloucester); Gethin Jenkins (Cardiff Blues), Matthew Rees (Scarlets), Adam Jones (Ospreys), Alun Wyn Jones (Ospreys), Ian Evans (Ospreys), Ryan Jones (Ospreys, capt), Martyn Williams (Cardiff Blues), Andy Powell (Cardiff Blues).
Replacements: Richard Hibbard (Ospreys), Duncan Jones (Ospreys), Ian Gough (Ospreys), Dafydd Jones (Scarlets), Dwayne Peel (Sale Sharks), James Hook (Ospreys), Andrew Bishop (Ospreys).

South Africa : Conrad Jantjes; JP Pietersen, Adrian Jacobs; Jean de Villiers, Bryan Habana, Ruan Pienaar, Fourie du Preez; Tendai Mtawarira, Bismarck du Plessis, John Smit (capt), Bakkies Botha, Victor Matfield, Schalk Burger, Juan Smith, Pierre Spies.
Replacements: Brian Mujati, Gurthrö Steenkamp, Andries Bekker, Ryan Kankowski, Ricky Januarie, Frans Steyn, Jaque Fourie.

I agree it should be an excellent contest. Wales may have a minor edge in scrum and lineout but that's a superb Bok pack in the loose and perhaps the fastest back 3 I've ever seen, Cooper will get a rugby lesson from du Preez at scrum half.
