I reckon Monkey Wrench is a MILES better song than Everlong.

In fact, I cant hear what people like in it.

Anyone else agree with me?

Given that I know "Monkey Wrench" and I've never knowingly heard "Everlong" then I'm with you although I doubt my opinion counts for much now.

FACT. They are two very different songs though, difficult to compare them. Everlong can do 2 very different things to you though depending on if you listen to it plugged or unplugged, which imo, is why it's better. They are from the same album of course, which is their best work.

And the Foo's rock. I'd chew my arm off to attend some sort of intimate gig with them.

Monkey Wrench is better, but Everlong is a great song. Both brilliant live.

It really is difficult to say which song is 'better' when they're so different imo. Which one you prefer, sure, but better? Too subjective.

I agree, but the same is true of a lot of things; music, films, books. You shouldn't have to stick an "in my opinion" before everything to justify it.

Absolutely. Something no-one on OcUK has ever been able to grasp when I've given my opinion.

Yeah, it does seem odd that so many people feel the need to see imo before they will accept that because it is your post it is automatically your opinion unless you explain further.

I reckon Everlong is marginally the better song although it is close but when it comes to the videos there is no contest whatsoever, Everlong micturates on Monkey Wrench from a great height.

Eloquently put ;D Likewise I think the video for Low rocks on most of the Foo's video's in comedy value alone. Most odd.

Oh! Difficult one :undecided:

Monkey Wrench was one of the first songs by Foo Fighters that I really liked so it has sentimental value for me, but Everlong is an awesome song too - very hard decision to make.

You should sort that out right now and then come back and give your opinion :p Here is the video for Monkey Wrench (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PYetqhRIK8) and here is Everlong (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbd8_ATZHlc), this probably isn't strictly fair because as I said before the video for Everlong is far superior but I don't know of anywhere that will have the songs legally so this is the best I can do. :)

Monkeywrench sounds very similar to another one of theirs, dunno what it is though. Cant say Everlong left a lasting impact. I like their videos though, very charismatic.
