Apparently, Geordie is THE accent to have.

Pah, Scottish is above Geordie overall but not as a regional accent itself. :p

Problem is that Weegie Scottish sounds so vastly different from Edinburgh Scottish we might as well be speaking a different language - "haw pal, ah'll chib ye'ez aw tha noo ye bams" compared to "would you like a cup of tea my dear?". ;)

I only regret that I can't remember half the phrases you come out with Mr VS, they're awesome, I doubt they'd sound right coming from me though unfortunately.

I call shenanigans- WTF is "Queen's English"? Assuming they mean Received Pronounciation then I would consider it the antithesis of cool. Unless you're Stephen Fry.

Why so ?

Very David Niven I have to say. I quite like it, but not in a sexual way you understand Will.

Go camp then, roll your esses. IIRC your voice is okay, received pronunciation is probably better than anything else even if it does stick out in some places

Well I guess being well spoken is ok, I just wish I had a bit more of an interesting voice. I do love the Geordie accent though. The problem with speaking "proper like" is that people instantly assume ponciness which isn't so fun.

You're voice isn't sheerly composed of your accent. Having a 'more interesting' voice could simply mean changing the way you speak, emphasis on different words. Also, learning to push your voice box down can dramatically change the way a person speaks - the adams apple actually moves indepedantly of the vocal chords although most people don't this - leaving it down when you speak gives a dark and sonorous tone to a person's voice.

Interesting... though I'll have to resist doing that at my office or people may start wondering why I'm reciting Shakespeare to myself! :D

exactly... 'Scottish' is a bit too wide ranging. Edinburgh/Glasgow/Wick/Inverness/Aberdeen all sound hugely different. I have pan loaf Scottish accent ;) though I think in this area the acccent is much softer and less prounounced than other accents North/South of here.

I'm quite well spoken (I was born in Oxford don't you know) and I think its fun as it really gives people the wrong impression about me ;)
