After the madness of all the summer festivals comes the manic run up to Christmas with bands touring like crazy :D
Any acts your hoping to see? Any gigs you've got tickets for already?
I've already sourced tickets to see Airbourne in Dundee in November and on the hunt for more bands to go and see :)
Porcupine Tree @ The IndigO2, Sunday 19th October
Marillion @ The Forum, Kentish Town. Wednesday 19th November

:D sundays was the one i won tickets for :D
I want to see Coldplay again :(
I also want to see Creedence Clearwater (anyone have a time machine?)
I also would awfully like to see Rod Stewart (laugh away), Stereophonics, Radiohead, Kayne West, Chillis, Googoo Dolls, JK, Jacque Louissier and (although not strictly a gig) John Williams performing.
Money, however, fails me at the moment (including lack of tour dates on some of the above). Boo. :(
Next year I will see Coldplay. I *have* to. In a different country too. Don't know why but there's an appeal there. :) Oh and I want to go see Quo again ;D

Also friday is nearly here! :party2:
Big outdoor Oasis gig at Finsbury Park back in 2003, we arrived early and were very close to the front (6 rows back if there had been rows). When Oasis came on there were massive crowd surges and within 2 mins the girl next to me had her leg broken and I had to help lift her to the front. The crowd surges continued and people started to fall over, so long as the person next to you stayed upright you were fine but as soon as the person next to you fell over you were screwed. After about 10 minutes I went over but was able to get a hand to the ground to stop myself going over completely and was able to help a few other people up. Just as I'm thinking this is getting rather dangerous I end up flat on my back and within less than a second a REALLY fat lass lands on top of me with her giant bum on my face. She was too heavy for me to lift and her bum was stopping me from breathing. After what I can only guess was 30 seconds I was about to pass out (I was having visions of my grave stone with "Suffocated by a fat chick" written on it) when someone rolled her off me and dragged me up. At that point I decided it was best if I got the **** out of there, all I remember from trying to get out is one guy who wouldn't let me past and kept pushing me so I broke his nose (not intentional, lucky punch and not something I'm proud of) and legged it.
Enjoyed the remainder of the gig from a bar where I skulled 7 beers and chain smoked for 40 minutes.

AAAWWWWWWWWWESOME :D
Friday Night I saw Lady Gaga at the O2.
We missed all of the supports - one of which was Alphabeat, but wasn't too bothered about that.
She is an amazing singer live. Charismatic and genuinely grateful to be where she is.
I was totally expecting her concert to be 'weird' - but not as controversial as it was. She had images flashing up on the screens in between songs - v s&m, gimp masks, lots of blood and one of her eating a heart :/
Made me wonder why you would get tickets for your 8yr old looking son, who spent most of the concert with his fingers in his ears apart from when Bad Romance came on. :/ I wouldn't take my child to it - knowing fully well what she is like!
Amazing costumes... some a bit strange, my favourite was the white Monster costume which moved around - it was beautiful :)
She was half an hour late... to think she supported the Pussycat Dolls this time last year - she's done extremely well! I was actually at the PCD concert and remember watching her - her performance then made me buy her album.
Really good, but not as amazing/innovative as I thought it would be.

Tink and I are seeing Stephen Lynch tonight :)
Well that was a really good night. Apparently I had seen them before at one of the festivals but I still can't remember it. They were really good and she was very easy on the eyes, which always helps.
However the support band sucked so hard, no idea who they were though.

My bass player (behind me) is the chief administrator of the KISSIN UK forum http://www.kissinuk.com/bb/.
My friend is seeing Kiss on fri night :D lol
I saw Black Eyed Peas and Cheryl Cole last weds.
BEP were AMAZING! They all did their own set where Will.i.am did a freestyle rap of the messages members of the audience text in on their Blackberries.
It was much better than I thought it would be and they played all their hits - some of which I had forgotton about.
Unfortunately Cheryl Cole was quite good too. Although I missed Fight for this love (shame... not).

Well, got the tickets through today for the next gig. :D
Last christmas I was given a ticketmaster voucher - completely forgot about it and only found it again last week. Only to find out it's got an expiry date 1 year after purchase! Oops.
Went to the site and did some shuffling through who was in the next couple of weeks... Needs to be someone that both me and the other half want to see. Turns out that someone that we've been listening too for several years is doing a mini tour of the UK for the first time ever. So on Monday we're off to see 'Weird Al' :D

Couple of other gigs take my fancy (Journey/Styx/Foreigner, Rush) but there both fully seated which puts me off. Plus I can't afford them :(
BTW Linkin Parked ROCKED!!! :D
They played a mixture of stuff and I missed the first couple of songs - one was a new song and the other was Papercut - when I asked one of the blokes there what I missed he said Crawling, which made me :( but then Crawling came on, so he obviously didn't know his Papercut from his Crawling!!! Will be amazing. I'm looking at tickets for Shepherd's Bush Empire on Saturday the 17th of December.
Enjoyed an evening of live music in Bristol's Thekla last Tuesday courtesy of Mr Dan Sartain.
Support was from hardcore/screamo band The Computers who suprised the whole ship with one of the most energetic and equally eratic sets I've seen of recent times- their energy was infectious and reminded me of the early days of Biffy Clyro, Gallows and At the Drive-in.
All clad in skin tight white shirts and skinny jeans (yes I know but bear with me), the lead singer was rolling, running and diving amongst the crowd, sliding along and falling behind the bar, clambering across ceiling supports and generally rolling around like a nutter. This contrasted with the almost entirely static, expressionless (yet clearly quite talented) band members on stage; the drumming was incredibly tight throughout. Personal highlight for me followed a 2 minute high-speed hardcore punk screaming track, where the band announced "We. Are. The. Computers.... and we're from DEVONNNNN". ;D This band could well be one to watch if you're into the something noisy, their youtube videos and spotify recordings are severely lacking compared to their superb live efforts.
The following support act were a nonchalent, three piece punk band whose name escapes me- this will not be a problem as they will not be worth researching. Despite the female vocalist's best attempts at getting people to sing along to "I hate my life and I really want to die" (catchy huh?) they held no stage presence or relationship with the audience; their non-conformist faux punk attitude did little to help such and the overall result was a swallow dive of atmosphere The Computers had done so well to build up prior.
Finally on stage lurked the gaunt and scary looking* Dan Sartain, his Deep South drawl welcoming everyone to get as close to the stage as possible for what seemed to be an intimate gig. One man and his guitar knocked out about ten songs in a fairly vulnerable fashion that reminded me of Johnny Cash - particularly the track 'Replacement Man'.
For the second 'half' of his set he was joined on stage by none other than the drummer and bassist from the second support act!... NOOOO I thought but I must admit enjoying the stark change in tempo and (to the use the technical term) 'Oommphf' they brought with them.
Unfortunately using a punk outfit to backup Dan Sartain resulting in a huge style change for some of his songs- rockabilly dancing music became distinctly punk and he was guilty of cutting most of his later songs much, much shorter; tempo changes, live performance and improvisation is all fine by me - in fact, i love it - but not when 3-6 minute songs are hastened to 2 minute efforts and banged out like a chore-ish to do list.
So a mixed bag of a night but a very enjoyable evening amongst live music and friends is never going to be a bad evening :D

He's booked out a load of really intimate venues with limited tickets so it should make for a fantastic atmosphere (as always!) - modern singalong acoustic one man and his guitar at some of its best :)
